View Full Version : Disappointed with resale
timmer357 12-30-2008, 04:15 AM I am stunned. I have an '08 with a TON of parts included in the sale, plus stock wheels/stereo if the person wants. I have it listed at only 15,500 in Craigslist and not even one call from a real prospect.
Just two months ago I told everyone to go out and buy a Scion. Now I would tell them to go lease it or buy a used 1991 Accord. I can't hardly give this thing away. I know, I know....the economy.
Sorry, just needed to vent.
kileil 12-30-2008, 04:29 AM Just a personal note, but when I'm shopping for cars I'm immediately nervous about existing mods. If its not been done by my MECP certified hands, I'm scrutinizing it.
You'd probably make out better if you took off anything that wasn't a dealer installed option.
Kanchi 12-30-2008, 04:36 AM ^unfortunately true :(
its_ikon 12-30-2008, 05:46 AM strip it down and sale it stock.
BZinn1 12-30-2008, 10:52 AM yep take it back to stock, and sell your parts separately,do not offer them with the car even.

x2!
Mad_Sciontist001 12-30-2008, 04:56 PM Very true when you mod your car you decrease the value. take it back to stock and you can get more $ for it, then sale your parts and make some cash on them as well.

Its all true, you will get a ton more money selling it stock then modified.
robbiej 12-30-2008, 05:42 PM I had my xA on craigslist for a month before I finally traded it in. It sat on the car lot for one day before it sold, for a little more than what I was asking for it. Most people feel more comfortable buying a newer used car from a dealership, that way they can finance it and get an extended warranty if one is available. Good luck on the sell.
list it with no mods on it and keep the mods on the car
thats how i'm gonna do it make it appear stock looking

even if you buy a car used from a private party, you can still go back and get the extended warranty as long as it's still within factory warranty.
ratcityrain 12-30-2008, 06:53 PM Stock and people are afraid to buy cars right now due to economy.. Don't blame the car itself 'cause i'm sure at any other good time in the world, someone would have bought it
Matthews_Lewis_Racing6226 12-30-2008, 07:24 PM if i had the money i would be interested but i am possibly going to be laid off...i hope they keep me
BZinn1 12-30-2008, 09:19 PM Didn't you hear Mike we all are gonna get laid off.........at some point business's need to figure it out........when you put the fear of losing a job on the market you lose money.Business's need to start hiring and then money will start to flow again.
