View Full Version : 04 versus 05 LouKY05XB 12-31-2004, 02:59 AM is there really any differences between the 04 and 05 xb or any other model for that matter RHDVIPbB 12-31-2004, 03:11 AM Nope. For eight years the xb (bB) has been on sale in Japan. The body hasn't had any changes at all, and the only possible new things are inside the car (stereo, interior trim, etc). And possible factory wheel designs. Sciond 12-31-2004, 03:37 AM no change except price ska1188511 12-31-2004, 01:24 PM No change between 04-05. The only thing is $. The frieght in 04 was $485 for 05 it's $515. That is the only change. Personaly, don't buy a 2004. You save only $30 plus one year of6 depriciation.. Get a 2005!! scionteammember 01-01-2005, 08:52 PM There are a few differences that most people do not realize. The 2005 has a better radio in it(looks the same, but it is better). There is also a vanity mirror on both sides of the visors(big deal) and the price. I think there was one other difference but I can not remember what it was. Nothing major though. Nothing major though. what makes the 05 radio better :?: :?: :?: BoomBox757 01-02-2005, 04:35 AM you can add a welcome message to it Sciond 01-02-2005, 06:23 PM oh yeah....but that doesn't make it better :D UnFocused 01-02-2005, 06:35 PM some of the TSB's for the xB only appy for the 04' and not the 05'- so thats a less of a hassle for the 05' owners- but thier very minor- so no big deal.... theappe 01-02-2005, 10:31 PM how do u add the welcome message to it? i never knew that it did that! TheScionicMan 01-02-2005, 11:56 PM There hasn't been much depreciation, you'll also get a bump for no miles so it kinda evens out. Must dealers will perform TSBs and recalls and such on cars in stock, they get paid for the work in most cases. Nope. For eight years the xb (bB) has been on sale in Japan. The body hasn't had any changes at all, and the only possible new things are inside the car (stereo, interior trim, etc). And possible factory wheel designs. Not an issue re Scions, but there was a body change in the bBs. The first ones had the plate in the bumper and not the rear door... how do u add the welcome message to it? i never knew that it did that! RTFM hehehe j/k (sorta) Search works too... hehehe http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13163&highlight=welcome+message 2tone_xB 01-03-2005, 12:16 AM I got my xB a lil before the 2005's came out. The vanity mirror is a big issue, for my girlfriend. I'm a lil jealous too about editing the welcome message option. Hopefully the future xB's (discontinuation rumor) don't have a trastic change. Example: Headlights, taillights, etc... squirrel 01-03-2005, 12:44 AM The springs are also a bit softer in '05 than '04, making for better ride quality. 2tone_xB 01-03-2005, 12:47 AM Squrriel, know of a good 1.5" drop spring without worry'ing about camber? I wanna get the Tein S-Techs, but people say camber this, camber that. TRD? Thanks. BoomBox757 01-03-2005, 01:01 AM you don't have to worry about the camber because of our struts 2tone_xB 01-03-2005, 01:11 AM Thanks. :) windowtint 01-03-2005, 02:45 AM The vanity mirror is a big issue, for my girlfriend. I just worked on member YAKALRAD's xA RS1 this past Friday and noticed that the visors both had "normal" vanity mirrors. They bodies are the same as an xB, but they both have large mirrors in plastic housings with a plastic flip-up door over them (as on a 'normal' visor.) Just go to the parts dept. and order new ones. I'm not positive if they're the same on all '05 xA's (or even that way for sure on newest xB's), but they are for sure that way on 05 xA RS1's. UnFocused 01-03-2005, 03:12 AM The springs are also a bit softer in '05 than '04, making for better ride quality. I heard something about that too! Ive never driven an 04' but my 05' has a choppy ride! TBDAugs 01-03-2005, 02:47 PM Also, isnt' the tweeter grills on the '05 different than the 04? I thought I had read somewhere that to access the tweeters on pre 05 one had to undo the dash, whereas on the 05 the tweeters have top mounted grills that just pop off. MBQuartAugs BoomBox757 01-03-2005, 03:10 PM no TBDAugs 01-03-2005, 03:16 PM okdoke StandCorrectedAugs MrMcNuggett 01-03-2005, 04:39 PM I saw a pic of an 05 and it looked as if the roof did not have the bumps on top and the 04 do but i am not for sure TBDAugs 01-03-2005, 05:29 PM My 05 has the roof ridges. WebastoAugs MrMcNuggett 01-03-2005, 05:46 PM i wasn't for sure the pic is a little far away and it just looks like there are none there. but now i know thanks. scionteammember 01-03-2005, 09:01 PM There ia also a difference in the A/C. I do not know what it is, but I do know that the biggest complaint about the 04's was the A/C and Scion did something to fix it. XBman 01-09-2005, 06:59 AM i went to the la auto sho yeaterday... on the HVAC temp cont... at the coldest setting it said max a/c? i found that interestering... to bad i didnt take a pic TJandBOXCARWILLIE 01-09-2005, 08:38 AM The AC has been changed, but not by much. My '05 had the 'old' AC in it. There is a TSB on it, so they put the 'new' one in my Box at no charge. I have not really noticed much of a change in temp. Um...I like the bit about changing the radio screen...oh, and you can choose between xA, xB, and tC on your radio settings...what else...I thought there was other stuff not mentioned yet.... tbone587 01-09-2005, 03:30 PM I also believe the seats are higher up in the 05 xb.. When I wanted to get my amp installed under the passenger seat, he said they had done one prior to mine that was an 04 and there wasnt that much room under the seat for proper cooling. |
