Default How do I hook up an IPOD Shuffle?

I am clueless when it comes to this type of stuff. I have a new ipod shuffle but no idea how to hook it up to my car. I tried the aux input but no luck. Can someone please tell me what to do?

run a 3.5mm jack from the headphone output of the shuffle to the aux input on the console.. switch to aux.. make sure the volume on the shuffle is turned up or you won't hear anything

If you couldn't switch it to aux then it might mean the audio cable was not plugged in properly, or you have a bad cable.

Thanks for the tips guys but still no luck. I know the cable is good because I hook the ipod to my home stereo with the same cable with no problem. When I hit the aux button on my radio nothing happens still. I wonder if the car stereo aux button is busted?

could be disconnected.. pull the radio and make sure all the connectors are in and tight.. pop out the ipod/aux button section on the console and make sure both are connected tightly

Try it with something else? A portable CD player or pocket radio or something.
