Default Hey! My 2006 TC Just Hit 40k! Check Out My Story! It SUCKS!!

Whats going on Tc world?

I have a 2006 scion tc....While I love the car.....its driving me insane. November of 2007 I purchased my car. January of 2008, I had my first semi accident where I clipped a coffee truck. Right fender was done......My side mirror broke off. So, in February.....I took it to the repair shop and it cost me $1200 to fix. The whole right side had to be blended in with a new mirror and fender. A couple weeks after getting out the shop, I visited my parents house to check in on them and my sister was there. She had made a quick run to the store and came back. When she entered into the house...........She told me "I need to tell you something" She backed in to my car and dented my front bumper really good

I was going to get angry, but hey......all I can do at that point was

Ended up taking it back to the shop to get fixed. I thought my luck couldn't get any worse! fast forward to a few weeks ago. In NY, we had a nice little snow storm that took place. So, you know the snow plowers were out in full force. I was driving my car down the road and a car was coming the opposite way. Since he was pretty much first in getting through the road (the road became narrow when the snow plowers pushed the snow to each side) I had to pull to the side a little so he could get by. As soon as I pull to the side, the car slid and right into a block of ice I went! Talk about a cracked front bumper......It cracked my bumper in the front, the side of the bumper is cracked sticking out.....the lower part of the grille came out....my bumper is DONE!

I am highly debating on trading in this car, or selling it altogether. However, I like the little car. I thought for a quick second to fix it up and mod it heavy.....but "The Curse" is still in the back of my mind. I haven't had any luck with this car at all.

I'm currently checking out 2 cars and 2 cars only! The G35.....or a 2009 Scion XB. I do not know what to do at this point. Is it worth keeping and modding it up? Should trade in for another car because this Tc is cursed? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If tC's are played out, then G35's are holycrapplayedoutbeyondrepair. I've seen nothing but "traded tC in for G35" threads this year. I still see no reason why people think it's such a great car, I've driven it, it's a piece of ____. Overweight, cheap interior, horrible brakes, and slow.

G35 slow? If 230hp is not enough for you stock then your standards are way too high. Our cars have a reason for them being popular, cheap, mod friendly, good economy car, decent power. Reasons why people like the g35, it has great power stock, its RWD, its Infiniti, its a nice looking coupe. It has made a name for itself just as our tcs have. Its by far superior our tcs performance wise (stock of course). As if our cars arent heavy and have a cheap interior ::rolls eyes::

Our cars are supposed to have cheap interiors. The G35 has a $35,000 price tag on it. And 230WHP/3700lbs is sad. That's 16 lbs per HP and I thought my tC was slow...

for the g35 price tag, you can get a better car when you are more performance oriented, other than that.. its gonna be more on looks.

G35 is a pretty nicely priced entry-level luxury compact. not everyone is a boy-racer looking for boy-racer cars.

wth does "played out" even mean? if you like the car then get it.

you dont have a curse...just a run of bad luck and if you are getting into accidents with the tc why would you not get into an accident with a g35 or xb?

test drive them then weigh your options.

when I wrecked my tC, I couldn't get over the fact that it's been wrecked. the car looks brand new after the body work but I still can't shake the feeling. I'm looking into a new ride too

if i were you i'd start modding a g35. . . you can get a used one with decent mileage for $14-18k now. they will outperform tC anyday

Why has nobody told him to get the xB2?

I used to live in MA, and I would never dream of buying a G35. A friend of mine had a Z and it was terrible in the rain, nevermind the snow or sleet.

Please don't by a RWD car to DD in NY, lol. Seems you're accident-prone enough as it is.

Get an xb2 if thats your only other option. If it were me i'd get a WRX. When I move back i'm looking into getting a new body style sti.

40k miles is absolutely not too much to start modding. You might want to just mod the outside & interior and if you want performance i'd get your motor looked at to make positive it's in tip top shape for F/I.

Turbo'd tc will ruin a G35, and mods are FAR less expensive.

Anyway, xb2 w/ the Rumion conversion kit FTW

Get the G35!

As for the cheap interior comment, I don't know what that is about. I really like the interior!
