Since there is no way to convert a manual to an automatic....and my wife can't drive a stick...Does anyone want to trade your auto for my manual?

you know.... (even tho it will probibly never happen) but i was thinking about the man to auto conversion. If you look at the back of your motor, there are 2 shafts that are connect to arms, which your shift linkage connects to... What if you were able to connect some kind of soleniod to each one and also the clutch.... The w/ some kinda EPROM module or something you could use RPM, TPS, gear pos, and have it shift for you.... if i had time, money and a will to do it, i could problibly make one that ran off a computer or laptop. but until then.... if you want an auto, get an auto.

yeah it's not hard and a light lil car without alot of power is the best kinda car to learn on so yeah. a few weeks practice and whalam!!!

that sucks. knowing maual is a valuable thing to know, never know when you will need to know it. all the girls i know always want to learn

(But don't do it in your Scion, go somewhere and "test drive" a stick at a used car lot. Go out without the salesman, switch seats and teach her... :wink:)

Why not rent a stickshift vehicle for a few days and teach her how to drive the stick in a large vacent parking lot?That way she won't burn out your clutch when she drives the xB,just an idea.

I think you're possibly looking at this all wrong- you've got a good thing going here. Buy her an auto xB and keep yours. Easy enough. :wink:
