Default Dealership scratched rims

So I went to the dealership to put on winter tires. The guy came out telling me how he needed to use a crow bar to put them on. Well I get in the car, check out the rims and there are huge marks all along the tire. I dont know what to do, I need to go back and talk to the manager. I allready called corporate on them, but I dont know what else I should do?!?!

I won't let anyone touch my car for anything. I had 3 free oil changes, and I decided to lose the money than let anyone touch my car.

I'm so glad I work at a dealership! NO ONE else works on my Box...NO ONE!

About your wheels getting scratched, that sucks but it does happen. Even at my dealership, it happens but MOST customers don't even notice! Luckily...you did!

He told me he used a crow bar AFTER i paid for the install. He said my snow tires had such a thick side wall he couldnt get them on. So I guess EVERY pair of snow tires he puts on the rims get scratched. And this was the first time someone has ever touched my car. I wish I had the machine to mount and balance my own tires.

hmmm i have NEVER used a crow bar to put tires on and i do them every day.... we have bars that we use but for stiff tires we usually use this crazy thing called muscles haha, was the guy tiny or somethin? they also have "arms" on the tire machine that pushes tires down...

^^^An apprentice must have put those tires on!
Us jouneymen hate doing tires but we HAVE to do them too...
The difference is that we know how to put them on carefully, an apprentice doesn't!

Your vehicle - including it's wheels - should be in as good or better shape when you leave as when you brought it in. If it's not it should be up to the dealer to correct the problem.

If they can't do a job without causing other damage, they shouldn't try to do the job. (At the VERY least the idiot should have stopped after damaging the very first rim...)

Hold them to that.

(Damned tpyos...)

Threaten them with your lawyer, that what I do when I need leverage when I'm in the right. My g/f took her car to get 1 of the 3 free oil changes, get the car back and it has a HUGE dent in the body line of her tC It was a brand new car, was not there before. They said no way they could have done it. I told them I'll contact my lawyer if I have to, the car was perfect when it was left. They ended up having a guy pull the dent. You couldn't see the place afterwards, I'm very surprised. It was a horrible dent, almost enough to have creased the paint and made it flake.

i work for town fair tire, and no we dont install tires that were purchased else where, but i can guaranty you that we would have beaten the price that you got your tires for and installed them correctly

ya i wish they could have done it. I later found out that the tires originally came from them, but I bought them off of a friend that never put them on.

So I went to the dealership today the guy said no way that his machine could do that and I must have curbed my rims... Im like ya right on all four tires. So I called up corporate and told them the whole story and they got my back on this one.

Wish I could have went to town fair tire. With the exception of the one dude I talked to, the rest are really cool.

Never drop your car off anywhere till you do a walk with them to show there are no issues anywhere.Otherwise you cannot prove the damage was there fault. Then try to find a good dealership that enjoys working for their customers.
