Default Radar detector question

I really want to hide the wire for my radar detector which is mounted close to the dash, however i have no desire to hardwire it....how do i run the wire behind the dash? any pics or DIYs?

I dont see there being away unless you run it through the airvent?... but than you'd have to have it come back out to plug into the cig lighter... or hardwire it down there, which would be dumb cuz u might as well hardwire it somewhere easier if ur going to hardwire it at all... my opinion.

Mount it closer to the rear view and hardwire it to the dome light. Mounting it higher and will pick radar and laser better and the hardwiring of my Valentine took all of 20 minutes.

I found this a couple of months ago and did it. http://clubsciontc.com/forum_thread_...detector-.html
Its really simple to do. All you need is to buy a hardwire kit. I bought mines on ebay for 10 shipped. The good about mounting it up high is that you will detect radar better. The bad is that you will detect laser worse. But then again the second you detect laser they already got you speed. And it doesn't hardwire to your dome light but instead your sunroof power. And it does work the second you turn on your car.

if you want to keep it low then just un bolt the dash and run the wire under it and then bolt it back down... thats how mine is done..

Here's what I did. I took off my HVAC console and ran the cable from the bottom, behind the console, then up to the airvent and snuck it through the top grate. Then I replaced the HVAC being careful not to pinch the wire and pulled out only as much cable as I needed. It's very discrete. If I have the need to hide my detector, all I have to do is remove it from the windshield and pull the cord down so the connector is barely exposed in the vent.

I got the Escort Passport x50. Saved my ___ a lot of times from a speeding ticket.
