Default tc hit by plow friday... it's now tuesday.

so I was out at fox & hound (bar) friday night, about 11:45pm till 2am during one of our midwest blizzards. when I arrived the lot was ankle deep in snow, but after leaving at closing time there were front-loaders plowing the parking lot. I left and there were no problems, it was snowing like crazy and i just wanted to get home.

Saturday comes around and I go to work (evening shift) like normal. Our lot wasn't plowed yet so after a few calls to our landscaping company they finally send plows out to us around 6pm.

Sunday and Monday i'm at home sick, so my car sits in the garage for the 2 days.

Tuesday (today) I get to work and back into my normal spot and get out of the car. I walk to the back to make sure i'm back far enough against the snow mound and see the left corner of the rear bumper cracked, puckered out/unclipped from the fender, and has streaks of yellow paint. my immediate reaction was FFFFFUUUUUUuuuuu...

After my initial reaction, the first logical thought was "the landscaper guys must have did it." I told my GM and he called over there to see if they had reported anything. Turns out they all have red Western plows, nothing yellow. After thinking about where I had been in the last few days I came to the conclusion that it was probably a front-loader from Friday.

I ended up calling fox & hound, and they gave me the number to their landlord (property management company). I called them and they're supposed to be calling me back in the morning to make an incident report, then they said they will fax that to Boston (I assume it's their corporate HQ). The lady asked how I knew it was one of theirs. I gave her the same story I typed here and she said she'd call me in the morning. After the last 2 months of non-stop BS, this is just another crappy thing to add to my list.

I can only imagine the outcome: I "waited" too long to call and they can't grant me a claim. It wouldn't be a big deal if it were just the bumper cover, but I won't know if the fender is damaged until I clean it up, and I don't want to wash it yet until I can get some decent pics of the damage for reference.

So I ask you, what should be my next course of action? Police report? Call insurance (I really don't want to file a claim since it may just be the bumper cover)? How can I go about getting this resolved through them professionally? I'm sure they have insurance, but they'll probably be _______s about it. anyone have a situation like this before? I do have witnesses to prove my whereabouts. I feel like this is a higher being saying "screw you" to me. I mean for christ's sake, I somehow did everything NOT to see this damage. has anyone ever been in a situation like this? Probably not, since this type of ish happens to me and me alone...

before people start flaming about "how could I not see the damage", I work nights (and where I park is dimly lit at best) and how I park in my garage I don't see that area of the car when I get out (I walk around the front of the car), and with the weather I pretty much just get in and out of my car and hurry to my destination. I usually do a walk around to make sure everything is kosher but this was the one time i didn't do it. plus it's not like the bumpers hanging by a clip or 2. the corner is cracked/split and the part under the tail light is detached from the clips.

CLIFFS:
car hit friday by plow
see damage tuesday
somehow managed not to see damage for a few days.
I fail at life
/emo rant

yeah I had some overnight jobs too. definately good pay...

the only positive info i have is the times it snowed (hence, when plows were actually out working) this week. I have witnesses confirming my whereabouts, and my story, in all honesty, doesn't sound far fetched (except where i don't see the damage for 3 days - that's where it becomes f-ed up).

I hope they grant me the claim. I really don't want to pay out of pocket. and I hope the fender is OK.
