Default Pennsylvania: scratch your car, it's the law (winter related

In PA, you will be fined if you don't remove accumulated snow and ice from your vehicle (a law that makes perfect sense for safety's sake). That said, you need to brush snow off your paint. As far as I know, there's only one way and that requires brush on paint action..

It doesn't take a genius to figure out this brush will scratch your paint (or maybe it doesnt?). Is there anything you do about it? Is there a better solution to remove snow off a car without ruining your paint? I searched and got nothing.

i never use one of those on my car except on the glass. i usually let the car run a bit and warm up and melt all the snow. or just use your hand or arm.

I think they made a law for this because truck, van, bus drivers never cleared the roofs of their vehicles and after a while when driving at high rates of speed the snow/ice would fly off and hit cars behind them and cause some damage and accidents.

May 2006 legislation that subjects motorists to a fine of up to $1,000 if ice from their vehicles causes death or serious injury after several people reported having ice crash into their vehicles.
so the fine is only if you cause injury or death? no manslaughter charges? getting away with murder anyone?

who uses a brush on the car? its called having gloves and using that to brush it off (the soft cloth type) and you will get snow off of it and won't hurt the paint

i just use my hands to push the snow off... of course i wearing gloves. works like a charm and doesn't really harm the paint.

using a brush or even one of them water blades will harm your paint.... i also in regards to a water blade i suggest you never use one on your car other then your windows... it can mess up your clear coat worse then a brush

This has been a law for at least a year now. Anyway, get up early, warm up the car, put on some gloves and gently push it off with your hands.
