Default What do I need for a tranny swap?

I'm thinking of buying a '07 tC transmission off of Craigslist to attempt a tranny swap. What else would I need to do this? Would it just be removing my auto tranny and swapping the new one in and then just tying up all the loose ends like ECU and other things? Thanks for the help you guys.

What you need for a tranny swap... first a plane ticket to Thailand, an appointment with one of their "doctors", about a week's worth of recovery... oh wait... what kind of tranny are you talkin' about?

Youre going to need a drivers side axle as well. Tranny swaps can be done, just prepare to have a headache. Chances are your going to be missing the "small parts", such as brackets and whatnot. Goodluck, and expect atleast $1000-$2000. If not more.

not worth it i was looking into it, you need to change out a lot of components which run up the bill... but if its a never tc, trade it in its smarter that way lol

if would be better for you to just trade your tC in for the last RS version :D or the new tC..swapping a new tranny will be so much money

^ Not as mch as people think, if you find a wrecked tc with a tranny and parts, it can be well under $2000. I coudve done it for about $1600.

1600? Wow then go for it because an LSD with labor cost more then 1600.

Not worth it IMO. Only reason I woudve done it was cause im bored of having an auto. I figure ill just keep the tc for now then pick up a nicer car in the future. Still hoping for an Evo X.

i'm still collecting parts for my swap.

i haven't met anyone on the forums who has actually done the swap.

i have a thread beggin for inquiries but nothing! lol

i want to know whats the dealio with the ecu and cluster, can a different year cluster work interchangably and i know ecu has to be year specific but does any wiring have to be redone.
