Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time

solve for Time

time = time for me to go read another thread before my head starts to hurt.

sorry, its been awhile since my math classes. they say that you will use all of this in the real world, they lied.

good luck with that

Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time

Time = [vertical Velocity, Final - initial(sin beta)] / gravity

i think

Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time

Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta) = gravity*time

[Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / Gravity = Time

That's like 5th grade algebra stuff.

my physics professor doesn't care about answer. as a matter of fact he doesn't care about numbers. You could do all your work in variables, as long as its right ur golden. I love it. btw Im studying engineering so i  physics

By the time I finished my mechanical engineering degree, I wanted to stab anyone that said the word Physics.

Just wait. It gets worse....a lot worse.

But stick with it. It'll be worth it in the end.

Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time

Time = [vertical Velocity, Final - initial(sin beta)] / gravity

i think

Pretty sure thats correct
its just like basic algebra
you want time to be on one side by itself since you are solving for it.
so you will want to subtract velocity initial(sin beta) from both sides
Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta) = gravity*time

then you will want to divide both sides by gravity
[Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / gravity = (gravity*time) / gravity

this will give you the answer for time
time = [Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / gravity

And I havent taken a math class since 1998

just do what u like and ull be fine. All mechanical engineering is basically the same. I'm doing Aeronautical Engineering but technical its Mechanical Engineering with Mechanical focus. What do you wanna do with cars?

EAmon
01-26-2009, 01:47 AM
lol idk
wanna own my own shop
work on em
cuztomise em
build em
etc etc
just have to have something that will get my parrents off my back about just going into automotive (master mech.)

a_german_named_hans
01-26-2009, 01:53 AM
oh well u don't need engineering. But mechanical will work. Theres other engineering you could do. like with my major I could work on the aerodynamics of cars. Bunch of career options. I wanna work for continental tho. Buddy of mine interns for them, he gets free housing and food + 1300 a month + 42 free round trip tickets to anywhere in the world. And thats the internship lol.

id help ya but im in my 3rd year in college and droped out of math 99 for the fourth time all because i got drunk as hell before the second day of class and flipped a coin at the bar if i was gonna drop the class. lets just say i stayed at the bar in stead of going to class and instead of class i now go the barhaha

im sure they'd hire Mechanical engineers. Look at Continental, Boeing, bunch of companies. Airlines hire engineers too believe it or not. I hear Boeing has some dope benefits.

I interned with Boeing during college. Only thing that sucks about them is you're most likely going to be in either St. Louis or Washington.

I doubt any of those companies are hiring fresh graduates right now though. I could be wrong, but I'd guess a lot of companies are on a hiring freeze, unless it is for a critical position (ie someone left the company).
