View Full Version : can somebody solve this? BAMF4Life 01-23-2009, 01:51 PM Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time solve for Time SATownScion 01-23-2009, 01:57 PM time = time for me to go read another thread before my head starts to hurt. sorry, its been awhile since my math classes. they say that you will use all of this in the real world, they lied. good luck with that CarbonXe 01-23-2009, 02:00 PM 42. BAMF4Life 01-23-2009, 02:01 PM please... i need this for a final SquallLHeart 01-23-2009, 05:44 PM are you that desperate to create a thread on SL to finish schoolwork :eyebrow: seriously... there are better places out there on the internet for this stuff.. not here. BAMF4Life 01-24-2009, 02:33 AM i just figured some one might me smart enuff... while i was here ketchup_xb 01-24-2009, 02:40 AM i failed math. :( EAmon 01-24-2009, 02:43 AM Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time Time = [vertical Velocity, Final - initial(sin beta)] / gravity i think jct 01-24-2009, 02:48 AM thats not correct EAmon 01-24-2009, 02:52 AM meh i stopped math last year at pre-calc adn im currently failing physics so mehh Aroddalobster 01-24-2009, 03:25 AM [Vf - Vi (sin beta)] / gravity = time i think. EAmon 01-24-2009, 03:55 AM thats like what i put rrimportracer 01-24-2009, 03:55 AM i think thats right ^ burstaneurysm 01-24-2009, 05:13 AM Not gonna help you cheat... I had to do that stuff in college, never again. SCIONshane 01-24-2009, 05:40 AM 42. lol, i guess i'm the only other person who gets that... burstaneurysm 01-24-2009, 05:41 AM I got it too. BAMF4Life 01-25-2009, 11:03 PM thank you... BTW im not cheating a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 12:00 AM im guessing this is highschool work? teamben158 01-26-2009, 12:25 AM Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta) = gravity*time [Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / Gravity = Time That's like 5th grade algebra stuff. EAmon 01-26-2009, 12:28 AM ^ thats what i said teamben158 01-26-2009, 12:31 AM ^ thats what i said But you didn't show your work, so it's only half credit. EAmon 01-26-2009, 12:33 AM he asked for teh answer not work XD teamben158 01-26-2009, 12:41 AM he asked for teh answer not work XD Try giving that answer to a professor and let me know how it goes  EAmon 01-26-2009, 12:45 AM lol i give answers to my Physics professor all the time she doesnt care a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 12:57 AM its a play off v=v0+at my physics professor doesn't care about answer. as a matter of fact he doesn't care about numbers. You could do all your work in variables, as long as its right ur golden. I love it. btw Im studying engineering so i  physics teamben158 01-26-2009, 01:05 AM its a play off v=v0+at my physics professor doesn't care about answer. as a matter of fact he doesn't care about numbers. By the time I finished my mechanical engineering degree, I wanted to stab anyone that said the word Physics. bennyboopy 01-26-2009, 01:09 AM LOL...I'm in my senior year of mechanical engineering and Basically any math makes me want to blow something up. EAmon 01-26-2009, 01:12 AM its a play off v=v0+at my physics professor doesn't care about answer. as a matter of fact he doesn't care about numbers. Still like physics. Calc is starting to get annoying. EAmon 01-26-2009, 01:18 AM i think ima go into "automotive" engineering more that "mechanical" engineering (if tehre is one idk, all i knwo is its engineering) XD teamben158 01-26-2009, 01:20 AM im doin Aeronautical Engineering. Still like physics. Calc is starting to get annoying. Just wait. It gets worse....a lot worse. But stick with it. It'll be worth it in the end. TwztedtC 01-26-2009, 01:20 AM Vertical Velocity, Final= velocity initial(sin beta)+gravity*time Time = [vertical Velocity, Final - initial(sin beta)] / gravity i think Pretty sure thats correct its just like basic algebra you want time to be on one side by itself since you are solving for it. so you will want to subtract velocity initial(sin beta) from both sides Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta) = gravity*time then you will want to divide both sides by gravity [Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / gravity = (gravity*time) / gravity this will give you the answer for time time = [Vertical Velocity, Final - velocity initial(sin beta)] / gravity And I havent taken a math class since 1998 teamben158 01-26-2009, 01:21 AM its a play off v=v0+at my physics professor doesn't care about answer. as a matter of fact he doesn't care about numbers. By the time I finished my mechanical engineering degree, I wanted to stab anyone that said the word Physics. rly? dammit cuz thats what i want to do (mechanical engineering) ugh! It gets really hard towards the end (junior year mainly), but it's worth it. a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 01:43 AM just do what u like and ull be fine. All mechanical engineering is basically the same. I'm doing Aeronautical Engineering but technical its Mechanical Engineering with Mechanical focus. What do you wanna do with cars? EAmon 01-26-2009, 01:47 AM lol idk wanna own my own shop work on em cuztomise em build em etc etc just have to have something that will get my parrents off my back about just going into automotive (master mech.) a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 01:53 AM oh well u don't need engineering. But mechanical will work. Theres other engineering you could do. like with my major I could work on the aerodynamics of cars. Bunch of career options. I wanna work for continental tho. Buddy of mine interns for them, he gets free housing and food + 1300 a month + 42 free round trip tickets to anywhere in the world. And thats the internship lol. EAmon 01-26-2009, 01:55 AM 0.0 wow idk what i shoudl do just cant ____ off the parents w/ my choise bennyboopy 01-26-2009, 01:57 AM Toyota internship for seniors pays 20/hr plus $650 per month living stipend. a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 01:58 AM ^^ Damn thats good too. EAmon 01-26-2009, 02:01 AM Toyota internship for seniors pays 20/hr plus $650 per month living stipend. I WANT! bennyboopy 01-26-2009, 03:20 AM lol...yeh...they are on a hiring freeze at the moment though. Kinda sucks seeing how I'm graduating soon a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 03:54 AM ^^ word. In my industry there isn't much on Freeze. Pilots, that's about it. They're hiring Engineers left and right. bennyboopy 01-26-2009, 04:00 AM wooo whats the company lol bigBOAT 01-26-2009, 04:03 AM id help ya but im in my 3rd year in college and droped out of math 99 for the fourth time all because i got drunk as hell before the second day of class and flipped a coin at the bar if i was gonna drop the class. lets just say i stayed at the bar in stead of going to class and instead of class i now go the barhaha a_german_named_hans 01-26-2009, 04:18 AM im sure they'd hire Mechanical engineers. Look at Continental, Boeing, bunch of companies. Airlines hire engineers too believe it or not. I hear Boeing has some dope benefits. teamben158 01-26-2009, 12:40 PM im sure they'd hire Mechanical engineers. Look at Continental, Boeing, bunch of companies. Airlines hire engineers too believe it or not. I hear Boeing has some dope benefits. I interned with Boeing during college. Only thing that sucks about them is you're most likely going to be in either St. Louis or Washington. I doubt any of those companies are hiring fresh graduates right now though. I could be wrong, but I'd guess a lot of companies are on a hiring freeze, unless it is for a critical position (ie someone left the company). |
