Hi. Im looking to buy a used trd supercharger but i need some help with a picture that I recieved from the seller since I cant go there and look at it for myself. There appears to be somekind of build-up on the blades of the compressor, is this normal. The seller also said that the supercharger only has 4500 miles.Thanks for the replies.

 

Build up... lol wow? I don't believe those blades should have build up period. Why don't you buy one of the kits that are listen in the FS section? Those are good kits coming from good people. (Not saying the guy you're buying from is bad)

They're not shiny, but as far as clean, definitely. If I were to take off my supercharger cap, you'd hear my finger run across the blade and NOT collect any gunk or dirt in that matter.

Well what do you know! I just found a picture of when I first got my SC from HunterUnknown. Not the best quality but as you can see (hopefully), no gunk!

 

Well looks like I wont be buying this. too risky. supercharger is probably bad or has been abused.

Looks like errosion. The outside of the supercharger is coated in the same stuff. I bet the car came from a coastal area or some place with heavily salted roads. As far as internally is concerned it could really go either way. IIRC the blades are supposed to be a gunmetal color.
