ok. so i changed my pads about 3 weeks ago. everything was fine but now i have a grinding-like noise when i slow down at low speeds. it doesn't happen at higher speeds and doesn't squeal or anything when im driving. does anyone know anything about this? or at least point me in the right direction? thanks

 

you might have debris between you pads and rotors....

 

did u try to use a BBK brake pads?

 

yeah it was in french. it said por-sche. i think it meants for her? haha but really. it only does it sometimes tho.

 

the pads need a lil time to break in since they're rough they might make a grinding noise but since you had it for more than 3 weeks or so than it might be your rotors....you might need them resurfaced....

 

Well I haven't changed my pads and I have 20k on my 08 tc but I started hearing a squeek once I hit like 16k it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold I will always hear it when I start to brake. Any ideas?

 

did you do the brakes yourself? or have them done? could be your rotors need resurfacing... could be you didnt bed your brakes.

what brand of pads did you buy? did you make sure all of the metal spacers that were attached to the old pads were swapped over to the new ones?

 

I have never done my brakes the whole set up is oem

 

well, if youve never done em before, take em back to where you had them done and have them check it out.. could be as easy as something got stuck between the pads and rotor, or maybe something more serious... in any case, have them take a look at it

 

Alright in that case I am going back to the dealer in a couple weeks to take my car in, but just for my knowledge what would worst case scenario be?

 

in your manual it should explain that when you start to hear squeaky noises then thats your tC telling you that you need to change your pads..kinda like a warning

 

hahaha oh yeah I remember reading something like that but I did take them off when it started and nope they had about 75% life left in them it was driving me and is driving me a little crazy

anyway, silverstreak, did you resurface or replace your rotors? it's important that you start with a smooth rotor surface when you put new pads on.

 

Oh damn my bad but I was also having issues with my brakes, and I figured why start a new thread since we are here to help each other out right. But then I might be wrong so I'm good I will go back do doing what I was doing sorry for jacking the thread.
