View Full Version : POLL! Team ScioNRG Name
ikhonlord 01-04-2005, 04:29 PM Hey Guys/Gals!
I want to start a poll to find out what you guys think about our name.
I have been approached by a few members asking wether we could remove the word "team" from the name. In all honesty I agree with the arguments given to me, such as:
* The word team is really not needed since WE all know we are a "team"
* The word team is more of a young, showoff type of deal "Yeah I am part of TEAM NRG and what?? "
and things along those lines. Personally my vote is Yes! Lets remove it, but I want to be fair and see what you guys think. The poll will be up for a week so make sure you vote and let the other member know about it, also whatever your vote is please give a quick explanation as to why you answered yes or no.
Thank you! :D
iRiSh_xB 01-04-2005, 04:31 PM First to vote! :D
LavaScionSouthernArizona 01-04-2005, 04:34 PM I like it both was, but feel that ScioNRG comes off the tongue better and sounds a bit more professional....
my vote, lets retire the Team....thanks for your service to our name, you will be deeply missed.
tcwannab 01-04-2005, 04:37 PM theres no I in team... thats why i wanna get rid of it
Sci0nSam 01-04-2005, 04:43 PM Nice Bryan.... way to state the obvious ;-)
dgHotLava 01-04-2005, 05:18 PM The term 'TEAM' always implies a competition. As in this team vs. that team….
I don’t think it is a mature or sophisticated why of representing ourselves. (note: we are a self described group of immature and non-sophisticated people, but we don’t need to let the others know this…)
I vote for the big eraser. Remove ‘team’
tcwannab 01-04-2005, 05:57 PM Nice Bryan.... way to state the obvious ;-)
hey! shouldn't u be selling cars  and wheres my 100 bucks
iRiSh_xB 01-04-2005, 06:17 PM Super, good call on the immature and non-sophisticated note.
Denstyr 01-04-2005, 09:08 PM if someone sees ScioNRG, they have NO clue what it is. You leave the word Team there, and they understand! I say KEEP "Team"!!!
NJthunder5spd 01-04-2005, 09:10 PM keep it.. if u remove it ill unofficially remove myself from "team" scioNRG
haha
Denstyr 01-04-2005, 09:11 PM haha...yeah, threats work!!!!!
iRiSh_xB 01-04-2005, 09:36 PM bahhhhhh.
groundzeroxb 01-04-2005, 10:05 PM My votes in, let do away with the team thing, we are a family anyways!!
Big_Jim 01-04-2005, 10:27 PM get it out of there. when i see team, i think of team toyota/scion and i dont like it (jeff u know what i'm talkin about)
scioNRG sounds good to me.
NJthunder5spd 01-05-2005, 05:45 AM im happy to be on a TEAM
jennay 01-07-2005, 01:35 AM noooooooooo!
1- i just had screens & tshirts printed up that say team scionrg--they are hot t's!! pics of them in my yahoo photo album!!!
2- we are a team=group of scion nuts who are competing against other 'car clubs' at events
3- being called a 'car club' is ___! where's the disco lights & dance floor for our cars!?!?!
4- proud to be on team vs a ___ car club
5- the t shirts!!!!!!!!! and other future products for our members & supporters to purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dgHotLava 01-07-2005, 02:06 AM who said we would change the name to 'car club scionrg'???
how about just 'scionrg'???
the shirts and what not, can be collector items when(if) the team is dropped.
the ‘team’ nomenclature instills feelings of conflict and confrontation.
What sounds better…
Team scionrg is here to rule the world!
Or
Scionrg is here to rule the world!
I do agree that ‘car club’ sounds ___, but I also feel that ‘team’ is just as bad..
I still say get it out of here….
Denstyr 01-07-2005, 03:39 AM as I said before, I agree with Jenny!! Keep Team!!!!!! You gonna change our website name too?!
Which sounds better to you? "Wanna join ScioNRG?" or "Wanna join Team ScioNRG?" I prefer the latter...
and to answer your question, I prefer "Team ScioNRG is here to rule the world!"
PunkInDrublic 01-07-2005, 03:50 AM Team "fo sho"
SilverTCin_RI 01-07-2005, 05:25 AM I SAY KEEP IT!! I AGREE WITH JENNAY AND THE REST OF THE "KEEP IT" VOTERS!!! i think it implies a notion of group and togetherness. it sounds better too.
John
iRiSh_xB 01-07-2005, 05:27 AM Team just sounds cheesy, like some high school club or something.
dgHotLava 01-07-2005, 11:36 AM agree ^^^^^^
Denstyr 01-07-2005, 11:38 AM to me, it sounds better than just ScioNRG...
dgHotLava 01-07-2005, 11:45 AM i've never called our bunch 'team scionrg', just 'scionrg'
the team part sounds like a desperate plea to be a part of something.
like irsh said, it's like tring to be the cool group from high school.
and if you look at the logo on the back of the shirts Jennay had made, where does it say team???
either be consistant, if its team then it should be everywhere.
why on the front does it say team, but then on the back it does not???
why on the arm does it not say 'team pres.' or' team vice-pres.' or 'team chapter prez' (beacuse it sounds stupid....)
and for those that say 'team scionrg' makes it so people will know who we are. i like to think that if it just said 'scionrg' people might ask what scionrg is and that would open up the conversation to explain who we are and what we do.
sorry for the rant...
iRiSh_xB 01-07-2005, 04:03 PM less is more...
when i tell people about us i NEVER say team scionrg.
xboxPS2 01-07-2005, 10:23 PM i wouldn't mind either way.....i'm just not changing my email!!! "team" does sound kind of a plea to be part of something, but again a "team" is the something that we are part of.
all of you have good points and i see why any of you would like to vote either way.
my vote's in - "don't care"
Denstyr 01-07-2005, 11:28 PM well, if it wasn't mentioned, we wouldn't be "debating" over this... damn you Omar!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) hahaha
LavaScionSouthernArizona 01-08-2005, 12:07 AM i wouldn't mind either way.....i'm just not changing my email!!! "team" does sound kind of a plea to be part of something, but again a "team" is the something that we are part of.
all of you have good points and i see why any of you would like to vote either way.
my vote's in - "don't care"
Bwahahaha...way to ride the fence...You into politics at all? J/k
CBSIMONSEZ 01-08-2005, 12:57 AM I say .... SPED needs a nap, and who cares about the name. Its just that, a name.
Speaking of names ....... Im not hi-jakcing this thread, gonna start another one ..
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41603
sciongirl81 01-08-2005, 02:54 AM i see both sides too...but i gotta admit i like it better without the "team." i never use the word team when i talk bout us, just scionrg. and jennay, i'll want a shirt either way. (in a MEDIUM). lol.
iRiSh_xB 01-08-2005, 07:03 AM Team sounds formal, and come on now... we are the most informal group out there. I like to consider some of our group as friends, the team kind of takes away from that.
sciongirl81 01-08-2005, 07:38 PM Team sounds formal, and come on now... we are the most informal group out there. I like to consider some of our group as friends, the team kind of takes away from that.
yea...what karl said...
swolenoggin 01-17-2005, 07:46 AM i like ScioNRG BUT I amup for whatever...hey is there any way i can get one of those t-shirts for my car show so that this company sponsoring can maybe make some and sell them or use it to recruit people for the group...hit me up SCIONRG
ikhonlord 01-17-2005, 03:17 PM As the polls show...it was a very close...but the decision has been made and the "Team" part will stay in the name. I know some of you prefer not to have it but if you think about it the ones that don't want the name already drop the "team" part...so keep on doing that... :D
iRiSh_xB 01-17-2005, 05:52 PM then the poll was a waste of time
dgHotLava 01-17-2005, 08:19 PM yup, and we still have two logos...one with and one without the 'team'....
Denstyr 01-17-2005, 09:41 PM well, it's with! In the meeting, we all said "Team" when we were talking about the group as a whole. Therefore, why wouldn't we keep it?!
dgHotLava 01-17-2005, 09:47 PM ok, thats what you decided....
but why two diff logos??? one 'team name' should equal one 'team logo'....
Denstyr 01-17-2005, 09:54 PM that is beyond me! I didn't have a hand in that...
dgHotLava 01-17-2005, 10:00 PM i know, i'm just being a PITA.....
(sucks being sick....)
Denstyr 01-17-2005, 10:05 PM well, you're doing a fine job of it SIR!
dgHotLava 01-17-2005, 10:15 PM what does that mean?!?!
j/k...
jennay 01-18-2005, 12:08 AM 2 logos to satisfy non team vs team lovers?
Denstyr 01-18-2005, 07:59 PM I agree!! I meant, you are a great PITA!! In a good way, of course...
firesquare 01-18-2005, 08:08 PM that means i can still get my sweet vanity plate ;)
tCjayde 07-18-2005, 05:21 PM I think we should keep the 'Team"...it shows unity. We all know a team has to work together to achieve success...
But, whatever the decision is... I will stand by it :D
Prototype_xB 07-19-2005, 03:14 AM I'd leave it. Team feels more friendly
WeeMan 02-28-2006, 08:06 AM awwww i never got to vote... oh well i would say Keep it. why not. we are Team ScioNRG. now are we Scion RG or scio NRG..... HA HA HA HA just kidding guys. proud member of the TEAM ScionNRG. its what my belt buckle says.....
Denstyr 02-28-2006, 08:08 PM its what my belt buckle says.....

Big_Jim 02-28-2006, 09:03 PM awwww i never got to vote... oh well i would say Keep it. why not. we are Team ScioNRG. now are we Scion RG or scio NRG..... HA HA HA HA just kidding guys. proud member of the TEAM ScionNRG. its what my belt buckle says.....
