ok trd finally got off there insanely long Christmas break and shipped this to my local dealer for me to pick up this morning. Now my main question is how hard is this gonna be to install(there were no instructions in the box)and I've never looked under the xb before so I'm kinda wondering if it's just a few bolts and it's on.
your gonna have to remove the 12mm bolt on the clamp to the exhaust system and I recomend having some WD-40 on hand to losen up the rubber hangers. There are two rubber hangers, other than that , its not that hard to install. :D

And depending on how long you've had your Scion, you may need a new exhaust gasket where you unbolt the old muffler, and bolt on the new muffler..

Hey striker,
Congrats on the new exhaust. The exhaust installation should be easy. You will get your hands dirty, though...
We have an Exhaust Installation technical article in the Tech section of SL. Here is a direct link: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17653

well so far everything is unbolted and were just fighting the rear exhuast hanger(closest to where the echuast hooks up to the rest of the system)but damn if there is no room to leverage those things off.i mean we had some trouble with the other one but no where close to this much.well i've tended to my wounds so it's back to work :?
*edit* as soon as i was done writing this my brother got the stock muffler off(damn hangers)and we got the trd muffler on and took it for a test drive and you can really tell the diffrence in sound so it seems like a sound investment thus far.now on to bigger a better things i imagine maybe a lowering kit or header
The modding has begun! :D Congrats on the new mod, hope to hear about your next mod. Time for a header!

I know this is a bit off topic, but has anyone gone with a cat back exhaust instead of an axle back? I don't see the axle back providing much of any hp gain where a cat back would give you a performance gain and a change in sound. Thanks in advance.

if i remeber correctly(and i may be wrong) from where the cat is to where you would bolt a axle back system is basically a straight pipe so if you were gonna go that far might as well as do the whole exhuast system and put high flow cats on it.So i don't think on an xb(can't speak on the xa or tc)it wouldn't help all that much and would only raise the price and offer very little or no performance over stock.

Usually a cat back will include a resonator along with the muffler.
Cat back systems are a great way to help out, but if you get one I would highly recomend gettin a header. For some reason when a cat back is installed the lag on power is felt more. With the header there is no lag.
