Parking lot fun
So here's the story: I ran to Circuit City to see what was left. (going out of business ya know) As I came out of CC, I spied another RS1 sitting in the parking lot. My excitement and curiousity got the best of me. And since there was a parking space right next to it, I zipped in and parked beside it. It was a nice day, so I put the windows down and stood beside my car. Some scowling lady came back to her SUV which was parked in front of my car and gave me a dirty look. She sat in her SUV staring at me. How odd, I thought. Minutes pass and she's on her cellphone. So I reach in my car and grab my phone and start texting about my incredible luck at finding another RS1. Twenty minutes pass. Now her SUV has been running so long that the cooling fans kick on. I look over at her and she's all creeped out. Out of the corner of my eye I see another car pull up behind mine, and just then creepy woman throws it in reverse and flys out of there.
That's when I turned to see the police officer standing right behind me. "can I see some ID?" "Is this your vehicle sir?" "I need to see your registration." "What are you doing standing here?" At first I was non-compliant and a little belligerent, because I knew I had done nothing wrong. Then it dawned on me that that a-hole woman in the SUV was calling the cops on me! Now bear in mind i'm an easy-going non-threatening middle aged guy, but that a-hole called the cops! So I explained to the officer all about my car, that I was in a car club and was just waiting to see who owned the other one. Case closed, have a nice day, sorry to trouble you sir.
The owner finally came back, it was an RS1 automatic with no body kit bought right off the showroom of a local dealer. The owner was a real nice guy and I told him he should sign up here at SL. So I thanked him and headed on my way.
The moral of the story: don't stand beside your open vehicle in a public parking lot minding your own business or some snoopy busy-body will call the cops on you.

I am shocked that the police would even respond to that. In my neighborhood the local idiots are always riding quads on the street. They clipped a local kid, knocking him to the ground. The boy was not injured, yet I still called the police as myself and neighbors are tired of these idiots terrorizing the neighborhood, plus they could end up killing children. Cops never showed up, and I gave them all of my information in case they needed me to fill out paperwork.

she needs to get that stick outta her butt and just leave ppl alone. at least the cop was understanding. coulda been a much worse scenario, like illegal loitering.
i hate the people who are like that, most of them are just so bored with their lives, reminds me of the lady who had me roll down my windows to tell me i was playing my music to loud.. i had all of my windows up and it wasnt loud at all...
