English 01-05-2005, 06:20 AM it quiets the exhaust, or intake, depending on which resonator you're talking about. panasoanic 01-10-2005, 09:29 AM The resonator on the tC is a Helmholtz type resonator. This type of resonator is not simply for noise reduction but for tuning the pressure waves of the intake air to yield better efficiencies. According to a Toyota brochure, the resonator box on the tC is tuned to increase torque. Here is a good place to read up further on Helmholtz resonators: http://www.users.bigpond.com/pgscott/resonator/resonator.html 01-10-2005, 04:12 PM The resonator on the tC is a Helmholtz type resonator. Why don't manufacturers like AEM or INJEN put resonators on their intakes if they're so effective in increasing hp? hotbox05 01-10-2005, 09:39 PM it all depends upon the car , the intake , and the filter , thpse are just results with a cutom intake on a soarer. |
