^^ Wow. Kick the gift horse in the mouth Sorry, but I get consistancy...so meet there and all go together or something. We aren't talking about a drive of a ton of miles...we are talking 10 miles..... just 10.....not 40..... I drive more than that just to get to ANY of the M& G's around here. Seems like everyone is getting panties in a bunch over something pretty petty from my view....but that's just my opinion...
Guess it would be better if dealers didn't offer anything...
Flame on!

Jenn, please don't just post to complain about the organizers of the Tacoma event trying to keep their even intact.
The organizers and the community have worked for over two years to establish and nurture the Tacoma event, and are finally getting to the point where all the hard work is paying off (the last four monthly Tacoma M&Gs have had 30 or more cars).
All of a sudden someone with an "in" at a dealership attempts to move the event to a location ten miles away (and can't even provide directions to get people there) without even discussing it with the event organizers.
These events don't just "happen" they are planned, and having someone not even a member of the community step in two days before a long planned and scheduled event, and on page two of a topic that doesn't even identify itself with the event, attempt to unilaterally change from the advertised location...
Well, what they have probably done is broken the event with some folks noticing the alleged change and some still planning on where the event was scheduled, and the rest just saying to Hell with it and not bothering to show.
Getting dealership sponsorship for an event is fine, not working with the community to coordinate things isn't.
Let's face it, we have a bunch of folks who meet in an empty parking lot, even in rain and snow, just to meet. That's a dedicated group of folks without enough sense to come in out of the rain, but they are MY folks.
I'll be standing there with them.
If anyone wants to come in with dealer sponsorship they need to either work with the established Scion community to assist with their events, or start an even of their own and see how that works out.
They shouldn't just try to take over an established event with an offer of free food just two days before and ten miles away.
I and others appreciate the effort and the drive, but one really does have to work WITH the community, not just attempt to dictate to it.
(That's all just my opinion, and I'm not one of the organizers, and unless one is a part of the community group that meets in Tacoma, other opinions are just that - other opinions.)
I'm going to TRY to step back from this and just watch it unfold. I have no desire to get into the middle of this squabble, and I also don't want this to break what folks have worked so long and hard to build.
Carry on!

Allrighty....well you will clearly do what's best for you
I am Switzerland....but if I was a dealership I personally would rethink sponsoring with the backlash this has gotten.
I agree it may not have been handled properly....but I agree with it to the point that NEITHER side handled this in the best possible manner for the best outcome.
Back to being Switzerland..... Have a great rest of the day

Tomas, I wasn't posting just to complain to organizers....I asked that they step away and see it from another angle...but clearly that isn't possible in this situation. Like I said I will go back to being Switzerland....I am not trying to cause a riff....but personally if I was with the sponsoring dealership I would be ____ED at how this is being handled. But that's just my opinion....apparently you all have your way of doing things....I guess here in Oregon we are a bit more flexible and will try to work out an issue instead of just posting how unacceptable it is.
End of rant....done.....have a great rest of the day
