ok this is what i have:

this is what i want my car to look like:

http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-47655311586773/ap-tC-catback-exhaust4.jpg

i want it to exit the bumper at an angle, i frikkin love that look. can i just get a axle-back? would it be the same? i want to use the existing megan piping.

what axle-back and muffler sound deep and still have a free flowing design?

yes, all u need is a new axle back, the megan mid pipe is factory style, so it will bolt on to almost any axleback.

however the pic u posted is an Agency power cat back, and they only sell it together with their mid pipe, not just the axle back!

You shouldhave gotten the megan drift spec exhaust to begin with if you wanted the angle. Why did you get the megan Oe-RS exhaust?

make sure you keep up on wiping down your bumper. it will turn black, and forget long road trips unless you have a heat shield or something. it will burn your bumper.

i'm not trying to talk you out of it, i'm just informing you of the reality of the megan drift spec.

I've got the drift spec and never had any issues with black build up on the bumper. Then again, I drive mostly highway. No really bad burns either, just a little bit on the corner when a rubber hanger came loose.

My buddy has one and rarely gets carbon build up on his bumper so I gotta ask what he did. I think he got a different rubber donut hanger but i will let yal know how mine works out and get ya a few pics.

Hey folks, I'm considering buying a Megan Drift-Spec Catback exhaust. I was wondering on this burning issue. Is it as a big deal as everybody makes it out to be? Are there any solutions? Preventative methods? Oh and BTW, sorry for the thread revival lol.

I have had no issues. just a lil carbon buildup but just wipe it off with some car soap and wallah! I could see if people mounted it wrong yea. but me and my buddy have no issues.

Yeah I have seen both the above exhausts and neither one sit close enough to burn,Megan may have done a tweaking to move the angle a little.

So I guess its safe to assume that the burning issue was more of an early model engineering defect, and that all future and current models have been fixed to avoid the problem? Is it safe to surmise I can go ahead and spend my money on one? LOL

It's honestly the best sounding exhaust IMO, but then again poor quality cameras and video taking skills usually distort the true sound.

as you can see i put heat tape in there so it wouldnt burn it mine didnt burn the bumper it started to make the corner of my lip kit buble so if you dont have a rear lip you should be fine

i dont know if the above ppl have a rear lip maybe thats y it didnt burn theres

highvoltage1
06-07-2009, 05:31 AM
Well first off yours is sitting way to close to the bumper. Plus with your lip kit is in the way as well. My buddy has a five axis lip kit and it doesnt burn his and mine doesnt burn either. Your exhaust definitely looks off.

highvoltage1

It might be sitting on that weird round gasket wrong. the one that is bigger then gets smaller. Or maybe it is a hanger. Mine sits where i want out the back but i do need to adjust a hangar so its not sitting on my heat shield for my gas tank.

highvoltage1
06-07-2009, 06:00 AM
Oh also how far are the hangers shoved into the rubber donuts? Cause i have mine shoved back to where it starts to bend on the hangar.

mine had the carbon build up back in the day when i had it. it never actually burned my bumper until i went on an 8 hour road trip. :(
