i did the hoskis swaybar setup the other day and had a _____ of a time getting the bolts back in the frame. apparently the did not go in all the way because i have creaking on turns uphill. is there a trick to these or not? thanks alot in advance!

did you grease the bushings?

mine creak in the morning.. if you didn't get the bolts tight, dont drive another day like that.. fix it......

There are four main bolts for the subframe and there are four bolts to the rack and pinion steering. Al of those should be tightened down. Also if you didn't grease up the bushings than you will get a creaking sound from the metal rubbing on the rubber. :sad:

and it's a PITA to get to the grease zerks after install ;)

thanks but i was also wondering if any of your bolts on the top mounts didn't line up correctly. it seems that the bracket is too big or something?

to get mine installed, i actually put weight on the wheels to get the swaybar flexed the way i wanted...

did you drop your steering rack? lol i did. missed removing one bolt, so the steering rack came down too, and seperated from the steering column. unbelievably hard to get the two flex pieces back together by yourself..

I would double check all of the bolts and make sure they are torqued down properly. Hand tight doesn't always work w/ suspension bolts. Also check to make sure there is enuff grease in the bushings.

I had to put pressure on the front suspension also when it came time to bolt the ends together.

Ive heard horror stories about two bolts that just wont go back in on this... I havent done it and its due to these stories...Im scared of it...lol

This is not an easy installation, I can tell you that. So whenever I see someone post up that the installation was a suscess I give them props!! But no worries whenever someone has problems I also chime in to help them out, I have been online many of nights IMing scionlifers walking them through with the install. :shock:

I had a _____ of a time getting that thing in myself. It sounds like you just need to torque the bolts. The hard part is getting everything aligned and it sounds like that's the case. Also, if you don't want to take off the bracket (basically redoing the install), then try spraying the rubber brushing with a spray lubricant. Really soak it so that the lubricant can hopefully seep in between the bar and the brushing.

The Scion was way easier than the Matrix. The Matrix was hard as heck since it was my first front sway bar install. The Scion install was a piece of cake.
