Default Looking to buy a TC, any advice?

Hey all. I've always been a fan of the Scion tC. After going through all those tiny Celicas, I'm finally giving them up to look into a tC. I know it's not much of a difference but it's an upgrade. I'm not into power or anything fancy, probably just a white tC with factory lip kit for daily driving. I'm going to have a 2nd kid later this year and wondering if this will be a good family car? I've been in a tC a few times but ignored to peek at the rear space. I know it's far bigger than a Celica, which was a _____ to put in my daughter when she was a few months old (I'm 5'10). Anyways, what are problematic areas of the tC? I know I'm still doing some research and looking around for more info. If anyone has anything (good or bad) to share, please do. I'm basically looking for reviews. THANKS all

the rear space is pretty good, it might be a pain having to fold down the front seats and reach back every time though. overall i love my tc, its my first car so i really wasnt looking to get anything fast. i dont know if its the best car for a family though... maybe its time to put your head down and buy a camry

Test drive it. Youll know if you really want to get it.
The back is pretty roomy, though i'm 5'11 and my head almost hits the roof in the back when i'm sitting in the middle seat. It can be roomy to fit 5 people, but if its your kids in the back, it shouldn't be a problem.

for a family car, no. if you have to keep getting your kit in and out of the rear child seats or something, you will probably start to hate life. get either the xB, or xD with 4 doors, probably alot easier than folding the seat up every single day.

the tc isnt a good car for a family because you would have to move your seats everytime you want top get ur kids out. id recommend the xb or a ms3!

Get a 4 door. I regret getting a 2 door and I don't even use my back seat that much.

I'm pretty much the only person that ever gets in my car, but the once a week when I need it I find it annoying. The doors on this car are so long you have to stand there and make sure they don't swing open and hit the car next to you while the person in the back gets out. Plus, like the OP brought up, trying to start a family with this thing is going to suck.

i've driven the tC and i really like it, besides the cheap looking plastics. i don't mind folding the fronts to get into the back seat. i've been doing that in my last 8 cars. ill admit, it's a _____ sometimes but im used to it. ill look into a xb. the first generation seems to have the room i need. i've test drove these too but i didn't like the thin chasis metal in the quarter panels. it flaps in and out when you lightly push on it. ill have to think about it. thanks for the input so far guys. greatly appreciate it

The tC is nice and all, but if you plan on modding it, expect you and your kids to get revved at lol. You'll get revved at in an Si, but you actually see older adults driving Si's lol. If I had the chance, i'd get one!

Lol seriously. tC isn't a family car. XB is very nice if you're trying to keep it in the scion family. XB has same engine specs as the tC almost lol.
