07 block 05 head...few questions

Default 07 block 05 head...few questions

alright guys im starting my build...ive got an 07 block, crank, and crank caps....questions....will the 05 head work?...also i noticed the head studs are different for 05-06 and 07-08.....are they longer or something? im leaving the head stock for now....just need to know if im going to run into any kind of problems with the 07 block...ill be running emanage ultimate with the stock 05 ecu....i know the 07 block has oil squirters...as far as i know that was the only difference

I thought the only difference between the 07+ and 05/06 motors was the compression ratio...

There are a few more things too, like the 07+ have oil squirt'ers, and the head studs are different too

There is a thread floating around here with a list of like 8 things different

the head would directly affect comprression ratio

well i plan on changing the compression ratio anyway with pistons

The head stud is dependent on the block not the head. So you will need to order the studs for the '07-'08 block. Heres' the link:

Head will fit. I run an 06 tc block w/03 camry head. also have 02 camry block/06 tc Head

Is there a main reason why you are wanting to run an 05 head on an 07 block specifically to begin with? or is that just what you got your hands on?

there are a few reasons why the 07+ tc's while boosted dyno 15-20whp more than the older engines. while the slightly upped compression helps achieve this the cams also play a part in it as well. the cams in the newer engines they are slightly more aggressive.

well i have an 05 car and i got my hands on an 07 block that i will probably just sell cause i found a whole 07 motor with 32k miles for cheap....deal i cant pass up haha

Not sure if the compression changed but the 08+ blocks have oil squirters for the bearings. (Maybe 07 too)?
