Well after what seemed like eternity (actually only 2 ½ months) I got my Work Seeker cX wheels  :D :D :D

I would like to thank http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0QgAAAKUTGI6A4nvVX5LSqWd2H5UNA5BtMvg82l4nWfsCYsg9MXWxna6lWjEM8q68bpTCHXq4dS4Ji8PBBwQrJl2pPtDbl598uqadFL9p5ws/halm.gifWes from Cabe Performance Parts for the hook up on the rims and Van, Denny, and Mike Ma for all the info and opinions they gave me on sizing and fit.

Front 18x8 25mm wrapped with Nitto Neo Gen 205/40/18zr

Rear 18x8.5 20mm wrapped with Nitto Neo Gen 215/40/18zr

I haven’t lowered my coilovers yet so not sure if I am going to need negative camber or not so far the wheels look flushed and no clearance issues.

I also haven’t taken it out for a test spin because believe it or not, it rains in California and my ride doesn’t even have the wiper motor installed (a true California car) 8) so I can’t comment on the ride and/or take wide shots so I hope these pics will do for now.

Overall it was what I expected from Work but the lip and size kinda got me when I first looked at them in the box. as Wes quickly told me “it’s what I ordered”. The tires look slightly stretched and fill the wheel well (one thing I did like when running 19’s) and I have a extra little bit of rubber now when dodging potholes and other crap on the freeway.

I will follow up with more info and pics when the sun comes out…

I had to take them off, I got a custom 20mm offset done on the 18x8.5 rear wheels

I will be weather permitting up north for the show on Feb. 5th I should have some more mods done as well as a power supply and OS upgrade on the computer to show ya  8)

I have been told that SE may have some reps to get WORK wheels brought in but not sure if all the details have been worked out. Maybe those individuals might post some info as they get it

Dang...you must have really liked those axis spiders for that influence cuz I really liked the DTM's you originally wanted.

Only lip I like is a step with a simple 5-spoke so I can't really say I like the designful rims...hope that's not "negative".

ProtoCulture

A stretched tire like that simply means that you are using the wrong sized tire for the rim. Good job on that one. Hope your tires last...

But just remember. I am but a stupid noob and I don't know jack about "VIP" styles, or whatever you want to call it.

Oh, also I don't know anything about tire wear. Because I have only posted a few times @ Scion Life. I must be 17 years old.

I guess all those years on the www.EvolutionM.net forum means I know anything about tire performance. I see a lot of guys at the track with stretched tires

But hey, all in the name of "the look"

Since your stats appear to be a noob  , I will try and explain without offending you...

The tire size still meets within Nitto's tire specs on wheel size, but the main reason for the stretch is to get a little more clearance and to give me the JDM VIP style I am going with on this car.

So with that said I don't think my tire wear is going to be less than what Nitto states, and you might want to check your specs and style a person is going with before posting.

Just a friendly tip and welcome to Scion Life :D

They are Toyota JDM mirrors they run about $250 you can get them at some dealers and/or other scion parts sites. They are however a pain in the arse to install but everything is bolt on and have the correct wire harness pigtails no splicing is required :D

nope tire wear WONT be affected..i dont know where u learned that. Nothing at all wrong w/ a stretched tire. stretchedtire gives more clearance like dave says and also makes the lip on the rim look bigger than it actually is...though the lip on his rim is big enufff =P

Din't know about that, most of us here that run 19's and other sizes have that stretched look , I've ran mine for about a year and a half and they seem ok still....hhhmmmm...but if it does wear a bit more, oh well, it's the style and we can always get new tires again... :)

There is nothing wrong with stretch tire, the only thing you might notice is ride quality which is a little bit stiffer other than you even get better handling, here a 215/35/18 on 9". JDMP

Dave,

Nice wheels, and good job on the stretch. That's what I had in mind also, should I ever decide to finally go w/ 18s and staggered fit.

Yeah, I see tons of stretched tires at the track...

But hey. Nobody ever bought a Scion to go fast or handle well. That's cool. These things are about style. If that's the style you like, then cool.

Seriously...

Just don't assume that because a guy just discovered this forum that he's a noob in general terms.

Sure, they may be within acceptable Nitto specs, but I wouldn't say its an optimal situation.

To each his own... Really.

Dude, not following you :? first ya give me a ribbin with your original un-edited post “A stretched tire like that simply means that you are using the wrong sized tire for the rim. Good job on that one. Hope your tires last... “

Then you totally go into reverse and edit your original post to make it sound like I
flamed you.

But just remember. I am but a stupid noob and I don't know jack about "VIP" styles, or whatever you want to call it.

Oh, also I don't know anything about tire wear. Because I have only posted a few times @ Scion Life. I must be 17 years old.

Like I said your stats looked new and therefore I thought you might need some help. So don’t feel sorry for yourself you made a vague post and I responded no harm no foul.

In general all my post are in some form are to provide good information and DIY mods ask anyone or do a search on me. I’m not out to flame or have braggin rights. Just want to help other tuners out and exchange info.

So my only advice to you is to maybe be a little more tactful in how you post, and/or if ya got something to say back it up with facts maybe pics etc.

BTW I think I am still 25 but probably have a son that might be your age, but to my knowledge age isn't a factor being a gearhead young or old.

No worries, it’s all good…

Well said Dave. I also see Proto's point about stretched tires, but were not racing these 108 hp cars it's all looks. Apparently he doesn't know the bB car culture w/ jdm and vip styles, since the cars have been out in Japan for over 5 or more years. BTW I've been running 19 x 8 on a 215/35 series tires for over a year w/ no problems!

im setting my box for auto x....it just means 2 sets of wheels and tires, staggered and streched 18's daily and wide fat 17 in ra1's for the track....didnt know it was impossible to have a dual purpose car

ProtoCulture

It's not impossible tinybigrig, but if you were using those stretched 18s at the track, you would see what I'm talking about.

Hey guys don't go to sleep! I'm in Iraq! Im awake while you sleep and vice-versa.

If you want to look like a Very Important Person (VIP) on your daily ride then cool.

And Puss-in-Boots, I didn't do anything to make it look like you flamed me. I simply used your words, not mine.

If you like that look, go for it. No offense. Just don't expect max tire performance. My statment still stands. If you took offense. Sorry. Honestly.

You will always be a VIP in my eyes.

Me too  While it was raining I ripped out my electrical system to do a new cutout switch mod and have no juice and/or battery. I should have it up and running by the weekend if not I will open the garage and do some shots from outside.

Trust me I want to see a side profile as well can't really get a good view of it with the angle parked in the garage.

Just some updated pic’s and info… I took a test drive locally to a SE meet and had no issues but on the freeway and with a passenger that was not so good. Long story short, 8 -10 hours of heating, stretching, rolling and massaging the wheel well openings I finally got it to not rub. However I did have to stretch the wheel wells ¼ “- ½ “, also on uneven pavement or large depression in the road I rub the tops of the front inner plastic fender panels and the front of the rear wheel wells which is common running 19’s and lowered. I could resolve this issue adjusting the coilovers and/or converting to strutbags.

Overall very, very pleased with the look, ride and feel, bonus was that people are breaking their neck to get a second look while I am driving (just like when we all first got our boxes :D 8) :D ).
