Default Audio Set-Up on XB2

Hi everyone,

I have not contributed as regularly as I should to the Scion family . I definately love the fact that there is a built in community for all those who follow the walk of Scion. My question is I have a 2008 BSP XB and was wondering what kind of audio setup do people here have? I was wondering if anyone around the Bellevue area or just the general Pudget Sound area has an audio set up with the navigation unit and subwoofer/amp system.

I was bummed to find out that the XB stock navi system does not have pre outs but there are easy fixes around that. I was just looking for ideas and sound/size options plus looks is semi important.

Thanks,

Tom (Eastside represent!!!)

I've installed navis and audio systems in tCs and just this weekend, in a 2nd Gen Xb. These cars are very easy to take apart and install systems in. I have tried 2 Pioneer F-series Navi head units and would recommend getting a different Pioneer series or another brand like Kenwood which has Garmin based navigation. So what are you looking for in the system? Car show wow factor, sound quality, a lil more low end? budget concerns?

Definatly can help.......what kind of system are you looking for......how much to spend,LOC converters to hook up subs to amps and such are never a good way,RCA outputs are always the best way to hook up systems.......let us know what you need and want and we can help make it happen.

Default Hey

Thanks for the ideas. I've never considered my car show quality, just a dailey driver with bass needs. I don't know if I would want to go with a different head unit because the factory navi unit has been good to me plus I don't know how much I would like to drop on a custom audio set up. Probably the most apt way to put it is I am looking for a budget build with decent sound quality.

On the audio part of the board I was looking at the Bazooka unit that directly clips into the stock navi unit. It would be around $300 shipped but it has a custom clean look. The only concern I have is the quality of sound it would produce. Does anyone have a shop around here I could check out cause I was thinking of heading to Car Toys to check out there options but you pay a premium when you go there.

PDXine has a sub box set up for sale, would take up the rear area, but very cool.

Bazookas are nice for supplemental bass but for my personal preference, they don't get loud enough for me. If i had an xb2 i'd get this

or

bad part is you'd have to relocate your spare tire or not even lug it around.

Yeah, that's the one thing I am afraid of with the Bazooka unit. I ordered from shipsound.com though and am gonna give it a try. Thanks for the offer on the MTX but I want to try to get a unit that doesn't sacrifice my spare tire or the trunk space I have. If it doesn't work out then I will see what my other options are.
