I'm new to my 2006 XB, I find the horn to be a little wimpy.
When is it located, and has any one installed any other type horn?
I'm thinking maybe air horns, or just something louder>

Wimpy is putting it mildly....I went with a set of Hell Horns
You can wire them with the relay but I just added a ground to the front bumper mount and plugged them to OE wires and mounts.
Just get the 12 volt set

That is about $50 or $60 off e-bay.

Yes get the Hella Horns. But DO use the relay to avoid damage to the wiring.
If you fry your wires, horns will be the inexpensive part of this mod.
Leave one (OEM) horn in tact and the other horn wire is the trigger for the relay.

Then you'll be blasting.

i think i saw it just under the drivers headlamp. you have to remove the bumper to get to it.

their was an xA that got some actual JDM toyota horns that sound like a normal car horn and they plug right in. you can also order a horn from a new tacoma or something else beefier then that. ask some toyota people to beep their horn and what ever tickles your ears right you go "steal" some from a totaled out toyota of that model an volah!

 

Hella Supertone horns are gonna be my next mod for '09...

 

There are 2 horns on the Gen1 xB
1 below the drivers side headlight and 1 behind/below the grill
Here is a good shot of the Hella horns Installed in the stock horn location

 

Actually 2 of them, on the xb one behind upper grill , other down towards drivers side behind bumper

 

mines louder, and I kept the stock horns

 

Here's mine! A little difference in size and sound from stock!
