Default What to look for after blown engine

I wrote to you guys awhile back about my block exploding due a shop boosting 20lb after installing my turbo. Well I'm almost done getting all new parts.

This is what i have:
Wiseco Pistons
k1 rods
Brian Crower stage 2 cams
Brian Crower tit. valve springs & retainers

What i wanted to know was, After the damage to my block, what type of damage should i look for in my turbo setup and in my head(its port n polished btw)?

Well first things first, I hope they are paying for all that.

But you need to make sure that there are no cracks on the head itself. Look where the valves seal in the cylinder, make sure nothing is chipped. Make sure that above none of the cam journals are fried and that no pieces are left in the head itself.

For the block you need to check the cylinder walls make sure there are no scrapes, scratches or dings. Also this is hard to check but you need to rotate your crank with nothing connected to see if your crank was bent. Note that is VERY VERY UNLIKELY, but if it is, Throw the whole motor away.

3rd, check you turbo (Exhaust Side) make sure that the fins were not damaged if Valves or any other parts came out and got chewed up. If the compressor wheel and Exhaust wheels do not spin freely or have shaft play you need a new turbo.

Other than that, you just need new Rods, pistons and Valves. From what you listed your parts look good.

Hopefully that helps.

I already purchased a new block cuz my old one cracked and has a hole in it. Its pretty ugly. lol Im trying to see if i can reuse the crank shaft because the new block doent have it. Im taking my head and new block to a machine shop so that they can look it over and let me know if anything from my old block could be reused. I just wanted to know if my turbo was still good. ill check those things you mentioned but other than that, is there anything else that could been damaged?
