Was today a race day that I didn't know about?

I went into town to run some errands. I stop at an intersection and look to my left to see a policeman with someone pulled over. I had my stereo turned up a bit. The light turns green, I go and let it rev up to about 4K. I shift to second and keep cruising along. Then I hear Whrreerrooooshshhhhgrrrrr. It's a Ford Mustang (6 cyl.) trying to race me. I never knew he was there. It was actually so funny at the time I broke into laughter. That poor mustang had to work so hard to pass me and I wasn't even trying.

Later, just after leaving the grocery store I pulled up to a stop sign checking to see if I could safely turn right. A red Eclipse went by with the driver eyeballin' my car. As he went by he down shifted and revved at me. I know it's been discussed before but do people just not know that these cars are more economy than performance? 1st gear is tough but after that it's not very impressive.
