i was planning on buying a cheap one on ebay but had bad experiences. what would you guys recommend? im willing to spend a little more not to get disappointed.

VRD or FIG are about the best you can do.

VRD are clean easy install and look good. FIG can be customized a bit more and are a bit different install. Both are high quality and worth the money.

The fig grills are nice

the cheap ebay ones fail big time. they dont fit flush.

I got my VRDs from Ebay. About $150 for upper and lower. Just make sure the seller is VRD and you're good to go. I would like to point out my grills have a chip on the inside which is why the discounted price. But you can't even see it while they're on the car so it doesn't matter.

at one point ebay had VRD grills for 80/100 bucks and it wasnt a VRD seller. lots of people on here bought them they were like APT fogs but in grill form

some ebay grilles fit really badly and look ugly....... I bought an ebay cheap fake carbon fiber badgeless grille before and it turns out to be a disaster. The grille doesn't fit at all.....

personally i like the debadged look of the FIG grilles but to be honest its up to you for what you want your car to look like, grilles don't really do anything to performance so its really up to how much you want to spend on a brand or what you want your car to look like.

I took the OEM grille and cut out all of the honeycomb bits and then trimmed a Fig grille to fit into that space, zip tied the parts together and put it back together with the OE chrome trim.

I didn't like how flush the regular Fig grille was and wanted something that looked RS1-ish.
