I sold my Car to a good friend of mine, about 6 or so month ago.

Maybe longer Actually, And I just got a call from him, That his shop Who is doing his brakes, Called to tell him that both his front H tech Springs are broken. Snapped Threw?

Anyone heard of this problem? I had them installed about 6 months before I sold the Car, and got my new G37. I feel really bad. And Dont know what to tell him?

I also dont know where I purchased the springs from, Because all the info was saved on my old dell, That crashed early this winter.

 

Contact Tein. They might be able to help you out - or help him.

Was it because of rust or something else? Haven't heard of any Teins doing that... was really just a tiny (not very widespread) Hotchkis issue.

I dont have the Stock springs for him, and i called Tein, And they SUCK! They will sell me another set of 4, and thats about it. : ( I Feel So bad! I guess ill just start calling places, and trying to get a set of two if possible. i dont understand why they cant just sell me one, THEY MAKE THEM! ? WTF?

 

Well, I decided Im just going to buy them for him. anyone know of a Website that many people use here, and have never had problems with? The Official Tein Website wants like 350 for them. That seems Way to high. I Think I only paid like 190 for the set of 4.

 

Did you buy the Tein springs from an authorized retailer? Or from Ebay? A while back ago, you could buy FAKE tein springs on ebay.

this was a big issue a while back...

 

its still is an issue but wasnt it jus for s-techs? not h-techs

 

i think it was for both...

before i bought mine off a guy on CL...i went on teins website to make sure they werent counterfeit...and they werent...

come up on bran spankin new stechs for $50.... still in box and everything

 

that is a sweet deal, damn i thought the counterfeits were only for s-techs! sh*t

 

the fakes were only stechs, people were painting their springs green and calling them stechs, there were no htech fakes as far as i know

Sounds like a fake set. A guy in Scinergyie with me works for Tein. He mentioned all kinds of issues with them breaking and etc, with the fake ebay ones. Sorry to hear, that.

 

I thought I heard that the h-techs had fake imitations floating around as well. One easy way to tell some of them is that they had a sticker that said Tein on the spring rather than being painted on.

 

ive seen fake ones with tein painted on them....but the tein label and specs wrap around the metal instead of going parallel with the spring itself

 

Yea I have the fake ones on my car right now. S Techs and the drivers side spring is broke. I am driving for now because I am getting coilovers soon. I know that its not the greatest of ideas but the strut is already shot.
