Okay, I'm starting to look at power mods for my box and wanted to beef up the low end grunt. I know I need a good SRI, 4:2:1 header, and a decent exhaust. Outside of that, what other options should I look at?
For the SRI I'm look at doing a Weapon-R or Injen... only problem is, I don't want it to mess with my stock fog lights if possible. Recommendations here would be appreciated.
The header I'm looking at is the OBX 4:2:1... not as expensive as the Weapon-R but looks like the output would be fairly close to the same due to the design.
Now for the exhaust... I'd like a good low note and not too loud. I'm taking recommendations on this one. I've heard some say strup, some recommended the tsudo n-1. I don't want a "bee in a can" type exhaust if that's possible.
Anyway, outside of that... what else can I do to help increase the horse power/low end torq?

custom exhaust for sure. before my header back system i just had 2.25 crushbent tubing from the stock resinator back ( 110$ at midas) . pick any muffler you want, i choose a simple cherry bomb turbo muffler(18$ebay) deep sound and nice at cruising speeds. obx header is great, they now offer a ceramic coated 4-2-1 for around 150 shipped(ebay) then pulley, motor/trannymounts, bored throttle body and from there it gets expensive, have fun use search

Just ordered the OBX 4-2-1. I'm going to make a decision on the SRI next paycheck and the exhaust the one after that. If I can, I'm going to do the I/H/E all in the same day. It will be a month (perhaps two) before I can get all the parts I need to do this.

I have an AEM CAI, OBX4-2-1, and OBX Catback. Except for the trouble that I had with the P0420 code with the catback, which was easily fixed, I can say that the setup has given me substantial power gains over stock.
If I may suggest, start with the SRI first and drive with it for a while then you can probably do the header and catback altogether in another install session. This way you can very well decipher problems that may come from the installations.

Probably the best way to do it. The SRI install looks like cake. I just hope it doesn't interfere with my fogs... I'd rather run stock airbox than lose the OEM fogs.

Irridium plugs gapped at .044, YDR SRI, Ebay 4 into 1 coated stainless header and Strup axle back. Works great for me. Around 300 bucks for everything.

I don't the YDR is still around, it was a perfect clone of the Injen, came with a K&N filter.
I had a Fujita and really liked it, didn't interfere with the OEM fogs.

Looks like I can get an injen for 120 delivered... but if the YDR is still out there, I'm all about not paying for the branding.
Also, wouldn't the 4-2-1 headers be better for low end torq over the 4-1 headers?

I heard that the guy that sells the YDR is back on ebay.
It is a nice intake plus the price was a steal for what you got.

4-2-1 is better for low end. I have the MMW, and it's awesome.
