What is the deal I hear with drilled rotors breaking prematurely? As in cracks develop from where they are drilled and such? I know slotted rotors are supposed to be much more durable, but hear much more mixed stuff on drilled.

The rear rotors look horrible! You should remove them and put back the stocks. I'll take the slotted ones to get recycled. No need to thank me Bobby...

I bought these from Tri Net Motorsports. I saw these on ebay and I googles their name and found their number and gave them a call. on their website they show that they have front and rear calibers for the 08-09 xb & steel braided brake lines, but when i called and talked to the guy he told me that they did not have the brake lines for our car and the calipers as well because they were having a hard time finding someone to do the powder coating done right. that the company they were using kept on messing up.

I took some better pics of the rotors w/ the wheels off and on looking all clean and shiny and sent them their way so if they ever get the calipers done right and steel braided hoses hopefully they'll notify me 1st or better yet send the 1st pair my way =)

the theory behind slotted / drilled / dimpled rotors is that the cavity provides extra cooling for the rotors. However alot of the companies that just buy blank rotors and self drill them on their machines in some random warehouse tend not to have the highest quality of machinery or process. Under various conditions some people start to see stress cracks coming from those drilled holes.

I've always recommended going with dimpled or slotted rotors but then again I'm guilty of having drilled rotors myself. I haven't gotten any stress cracks on them yet (*knock on wood). Drilled rotors tend to look the best though.... but just make sure you guys inspect your rotors from time to time..... last thing anyone wants is f*cked up braking.

True and it really depends on how u brake as well. you u step on the break hard or when you really dont need to then u may be more proned 2 have stress cracks. I usually just let my foot off the gas and let my foot hover over the brake so i only step on the break when I really need to. it helps save the pads for longer life, and helps reduce heat on the rotors
