sorry to burst all your bubbles, but the scion dL is a hoax. My dad works for the company at toyotas northern california district headquaters in san ramon. I had him look into it since i asked him about this car, which he had never heard of. He has talked with multiple scion reps in his office asa well as product specialists and some other sources and they have comfirmed that this car does not exist, nor has it even been put into production. this car was made by someone with a little extra time and photoshop, it is comfirmed that the pictures that have been posted are a simply modified nissan. and this person has sent it out to multiple dealerships saying this is a new release that will be soon to be put on delievery. well some of these people have looked into it and guess what, they arent getting any car named the scion dL nor any new scion as it is. the scion dL is non existant, and everything you have read about it coming out doesnt exist..

Well, maybe the speculation is off, but there will be another Scion eventually... Why can't we bat the idea around a little without everyone trying to quash the "rumors".

Check out the variety of rumors that swirled around the tC - some came true, some didn't.

You could not convince me that Toyota and Scion execs don't have a long term plan mapped out. They aren't sitting and waiting to see what the next thing will be...

well of course there will be another scion that comes along in the next year. just saying that cars go into production a good 1-2 years b4 release. i myself knew about the tC about 4 months after the release of xA and xB. but anyways the pcitures, the name, are all fake. the 4 door sedan the remarkably resembles nearly exactly the nissan does not exist. just making that point

Okay, so you may or may not have the inside track. Do you have any information on what the next car will be like? What features, will it be 2/4dr, convertible or hardtop, etc...If you knew about the tc long before everyone else(which is significant because it was truly a new car, not a rebadging job), do you have a general idea of when you will have info on the next release? Please understand, I personally am not trying to come off like a jerk or anything, but if you are able to disprove the future release of the "dl", can you identify anything in the pipeline?

the only thing that is on the pipeline currently is the limited edition #2 of the scion xB which will be bright yellow and will be numberd just as the hot lava was. if im not mistaken there is going to be little features with the side mirors and it will be released in late march.

yes ive only been signed up for a few days because i got my own scion for xmas and i had just heard of the site. that has nothign to do with me giving informaiton. i saw this forum about the dl when i signed up and i looked into it then had my dad look into it when he went into work and this is what i got from him.

I just thought of this, but how can one prove that something doesn't exist if there is no information that it DOES EXIST? What info do we have pointing to it's existence? Are there any press releases, documents...did the pics/sketches of the dl come from a credible source?

exactly, like i was saying this car is made up by an avg joe, there is no credible source from scion or toyota sayin this car exists. there is no true information that it does exist. like you just said. that was my whole point i was trying to make

i actually believe him guys. if you really think about it, we don't have any sufficient evidence of the dL existing either, so it really doesn't make sense to ask him to give us proof that it doesn't. we're all believing that the dL does exist cause we WANT it to exist.

sorry, what picture of a nissan are we talking about? cause if it's the one i'm thinking of, the author cleary stated it was a photochop.

I'm not really feelin' the dL anyway, if it were true. i think they need a teeny pickup or another xB sized thing with sliding doors...

You will notice that is dated July 21, 2004. Thats is almost 6 months BEFORE the PR release was ever done.....Just to show you that some rumors might be true...

Also do me a favor, ask ure dad if he has any idea about the TC SC since he knows everything before we all do, and while you are asking him..also mention to him if he knows anything about the SC Factory option for the XB and XA... :wink:

One thing is for sure, Scion will release a new car. There is no way that the head honcho's at toyota will let a good thing like the popularity of scion slip from them. Nor will they let the brand get diluted. Their plan is release only a few cars and let the hype build. They currently have three cars, at least two of them are like bottled lightening. (Sorry xA people) With plans to phase out models after three years, they will have to replace it with something. Whether or not its called the "dL" is irrelavant, a new car will be coming.
