Anyone know of any piggyback engine management systems for the TC? Since I live in a area that does emissions testing, and most stand alone systems don't have a ODB-II port I have to keep the stock ECU. I don't want to add any power mods till I find one. Slapping on parts without proper tuning is just asking for trouble.

i know that not all of um work on the tC cuz of vvti on stuff..from what i remember from the corolla and matrix boards, apexi safc isnt really beneficial but some people said unichip or the split second a/f controller worked...maybe even the greddy emanage..not too sure on this one though, like to see if someone or companies have tested them out yet.

i kid that works at my stepfathers shop had a srt-4 with e-manage and it just went crazy on him, they had to tow the car into the shop and rip it out. they still don't know what caused it to go crazy... one minute it was working.. the next the car was on the side of the road.

I remember that problem on my old Evo 8!
Most people have problems with the intial setup of the Emanage. I installed it on my turbo 2002 Civic and ran into problems for a while. After figuring it all out, I was VEY happy with it, and nothing comes close for tuning for the amount you spend.
The only thing I'd take over the Greddy Emanage is a full standalone. The AEM looks promising and I've been trying to contact them to get something worked out so we can get a stand alone ECU from then for our tCs. When I eventually get a hold of someone and get things worked out I'll let everyone know. AEM has TONS of features, best being a 2-stage adjustable revlimiter, boost control, and new ignition maps. All completely plug and play.
