Big_Jim 03-25-2009, 12:41 PM Congrats on the purchase. Enjoy it!
chaseonbass 03-25-2009, 12:59 PM I am 100% sure my next car will be a used STI I'm obsessed with them. Good choice!
ahatch133 03-25-2009, 01:06 PM i want a evo. but here in the midwest we drive so damn much and id be spending so much on tires breaks and such

Hopefully the link works...
Sadly it's not the STI...I couldn't justify another almost 10k for 40hp, I will be going to COBB Tuning and getting there stage 1 upgrade soon enough.
I would suggest this car to anyone. I was taking it easy yesterday since I still need to break it in but the handling is awesome. It instantly gave me more confidence when there was little to no body roll. The seats hug you in all the right places and keeps you put.
Things to buy:
External wastgate
Boost gauge
turbo timer
Downpipe
Cat-back exhaust
Accessport
Kvizzel 03-25-2009, 04:06 PM sexy,
i'm looking into an STI or maybe an EVO.
i like the older model instead of the hatch.
sitll looks great!
draxcaliber 03-25-2009, 04:13 PM while the STI has 40 more bhp, it is actually slower than the wrx in 0-60 times because the wrx only needs one shift to get to 60 while the sti needs 2 shifts. and is also alittle heavier.
but the sti has better suspension and sways and you can change the settings on the differential and a 6th gear! but yeah, it is hard to justify the sti over the wrx the way they stand these days.
trdtcpr 03-25-2009, 04:28 PM nice upgrade! enjoy and take care of it! :D

gofastC 08-07-2009, 01:28 AM :Update:
Nice to see that SL has changed it's format and it looks a little bit friendlier to use.
On the car...it's been babied up to 1100mi and for $1000 I'm now at stage 2 pushing 300whp... This car is a beast and will suck you into the seat in any gear. It is a blast to drive and with the awd traction is the only thing it gets, and groceries.
I would suggest to any tC owners out there to go and test drive one, it is a free ride and you will get a s*** eating grin on your face when you do.
Things to still get...A pod pillar with a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge. The AP will data log great but sucks at trying to view live data.
my06tc 08-07-2009, 02:35 AM actualy i wanna get the 06 evo 8 but im afraid if i test drive one im never goona want to drive my tc again..samething with the sti.once you drive one going back to the tc is hard and feels totally different
chaseonbass 08-07-2009, 12:55 PM I'd love to see some pics!
rosedaleny806 08-07-2009, 01:42 PM i would never get an evo8 u know damn well those cars were beat on
getaforknjob 08-07-2009, 01:50 PM i would never get an evo8 u know damn well those cars were beat on
Exactly why I will NEVER buy a car like the Evo or STi used from ANYONE.
No matter what they say, they beat their car to hell.
CarbonXe 08-07-2009, 01:52 PM I couldn't justify another almost 10k for 40hp
It's a lot more than just 40hp.
RCZDesigns 08-07-2009, 08:06 PM If you know what you're looking for, you can tell the difference between a car thats been driven (hard, but responsibly) and a car that someone just beat.
When I almost got into a subie it was a 40yr old guy that bought a base WRX and did a complete STi swap on everything. All I remember is looking underneath and seeing Perrin everywhere, coilovers, the STi brakes, STi motor, it was a 6spd... completely sick.
His sons had STi's and he didnt like the wing and what not so he bought the WRX and retrofitted it, just to go to car meets with the boys. He got over it after a year and traded it for a Tundra.
It was going to be like 24k... what an idiot I was.
CarbonXe 08-07-2009, 08:16 PM Wait, he bought a WRX and did a complete STi swap because he didn't like the wing? Did he know that he could have bought an STi and just swapped trunks with a WRX?

QFT lol

LMFAO!
getaforknjob 08-08-2009, 05:31 PM That old guy is a :loser: .
