Has anyone tried both for comparison? The stock height does look a little high. The xB at my dealership has 18" wheels with the SPY springs. I would still like a nice ride for anyone in the back. The demo's ride is a little stiff. I was thinking that with the stock tires (different rims of coarse) the ride might not be as stiff. Plus with the lower center of gravity and a strut bar the corning should still be decent. Are the TRD springs as stiff? If they are I might do the 2" drop vs. the 1.25" drop. What are your thoughts about this set up? Thanks for any insight provided.

i've read that the TRD's are stiff......like the stock springs.......go with the Spy's..I have the 1.25 springs and LOVE them.

I started with the TRD's on 17" wheels with 215/40 tires then went to SPy's 2.0" drop springs on the same wheels. I have since upgraded to 18" with 215/35 tires. In both cases, the ride and the look are much better on the SPY's.

FYI, the SPY 2.0" drop springs are progressive rate springs and the SPY 1.25" drop springs are not (just like the TRD's).

I'm not sure you're right about the 1.25's the website claim they are progressive and the appeared to be MORE progressive then the stock springs.......either way, they ride way better then stock.

Cool maybe I will go with that 2" drop then. It looks sweet on our demo. And if I recall from a past post I did, the stock tires will still fit without rubbing. The rims I'm thinking about are 15x6.5 instead of the stock 15x6.0.

The car you drove has a 2" drop, that is what sold me on 2" springs! You really thought that ride was stiff? I thought is was too bouncy, my wife rode in the back and thought it was too bouncy also, I am looking for a stiffer 2" drop right now...

Spy's ride better and they make the drop look nicer than just on TRD's.

Incidently there is a set of SPY 2.0 inch springs for sale on the Prive Party classified forum!

I say stiff because hitting a bump on the highway I could feel the car move to the side a tad. I don't think it bounced too much. But with very little sidewall you could really feel the road. Although it was probably about the same as the bug I used to drive so it doesn't bother me as much as others at work aho took it out for a spin. They too used the description of stiff. The one you drove had the Spy springs Doc?

Didn't you guys sell the demo? How much did you get for it?

I'd go for some nice light 17s with the Spys. If you got deep wallets get coil overs. I also heard that Tanabe NF210s ride nice.

It's crunchy with the stock springs and factory alloys.

That wasn't us, I believe that was RK in Hampton. Ours is still on the lot and I don't know when they plan on selling it. We have 2" drop Spy with 18" axis wheels.

Huh, someone told me it was sold. I guess you would know though!

Those 18s look nice. I think the demo rides a lot better than stock.

spy's ride fine and no one has complained about how
they ride. i'd suggest u get a stock xb.. or cheapest possible
and just put on spy's yourself.. it'll be cheaper,. and u get to learn
about your car!

check classifieds for a set my buddy is selling.
his car has very little miledge on it and the springs are in
mint condition, just used for a few months if even that.

I work in parts so it was worth it for me to buy it stock no extras, I'll be adding on quickly after. I just ordred my Spy's this afternoon so now its a race. The springs should be here Friday. The Scions start leaving the port in NJ Monday. Which will get here first :?: Hopefully they'll get here the same day :)

I have the TRD's with stock tires on Konig 15" wheels. I didn't notice that much of a difference with the TRD's ride wise or handling wise. I thought it would help out the handling more. I got the drop I wanted though. I didn't want it too low cuz I have a steep driveway. That's my .02.

you need to think about the look you are going for and wheel size you want to use. both springs will run good.
