What street bike should I get??

Well since you have quite a years of experience I'd recommend looking at Ducati. The one I liked was the hypermotard 1100s but its not a street bike, a "naked" bike.
I'll be getting my first bike soon, a kawasaki ninja 250r, light, fun, great handling bike with not enough power so i don't kill myself.
Whats your budget and do you want a fast bike?
the ninja 650r is sexy and so is the zx14

I own a Yamaha FZ6. I like it a lot, comfortable for the longer rides and it's my first bike and I think it's an awesome learner's bike. I think anything under 600cc you will get bored within the first few weeks.

If you have had 8 years exp.... well then you should step it up and get the R6. My friends been riding bikes for years and has had many different bikes and still ends up back with an R6 every time. This is coming from a guy who had pins put in his back and screws in the knees after surviving some Van nailing him on the freeway.... He still rides his R6, although if you have the Cash go with a DUCATI!!!

Anyone deal with Buell? I've been debating the Blast or a Ninja 250r for a starter bike. The Buell's $700 more but 492cc vs. 250cc with better fuel economy. I do like the look of the 250 better.
With 8 yrs experience, I'd say go for the Ninja 650R or the ZX-6R.
