View Full Version : tire shine, yes i searched, which one to use??
xnevergiveinx 01-11-2005, 04:39 PM hey ya, i searched and didn't come up with much on tire shine, just someone mentioned zaino tire shine.
i want something that won't spin off onto my paint and something that gives a good gloss that lasts more than 2 days. someone told me that you should use a gel, and the more you apply it, the longer it lasts....
any thoughts?
SCI_TC_GUY 01-11-2005, 04:49 PM hmmmm....never really thought about that.......i don't even think I've ever seen a gel tire shine.......PM me if u find where to get some....

They sell it at WalMart, so something tells me it's not the best tire shine, but on my old car I used Black Magic's stuff. They do have a spray, a gel you can rub on or a foam.
Juan1224 01-11-2005, 05:27 PM I use one from Maguiars (spelling). It comes in a clear spray bottle. Works good and lasts a while.
THE_DON 01-11-2005, 05:27 PM Meguires High Gloss Tire Gel
"Lasts weeks, not days!" is what the bottle says...
Lasts "days" for me, but still longer than a spray.
Black Magic sells a gel too, with an applicator.
Dude, go to the auto parts store, there's like a million!
Just know that tire "foam" doesn't do sh*t!
Tire "shine" is good but spatters a lot
Tire "gel" is the best, and lasts the longest
Peace

Cheif_Thundercloud 01-11-2005, 05:31 PM Turtle wax has some good stuff, Doesnt spin off at all and smells like starburst.
Its kindof a thick cream/gel. Good stuff.
PandaIst 01-11-2005, 06:49 PM Shining Monkey....www.shiningmonkey.com
It's no spitting and lasts for weeks.
deager 01-11-2005, 06:51 PM More Shine, Less Time. I've used several brands, and this is the best I've used. It spays on with no overspray, is dark black and shiny. Tires don't turn brown, Lasts, long, too.

"looks wet no mess"
www.supershowdetail.com or something?
that ____ is bad! i put it on my friends car, drove 3 days in rain(non stop rain) STILL shiney!
i put it on my car and i've never seen my tires that shiny before!
laydapipe 01-23-2005, 05:10 AM turtle wax does me good!!!
KINGxOFxSKA 01-23-2005, 05:49 AM i've learned from experience that using a good tire cleaning product before you apply the spray/gel makes the tires shine longer. i personaly like Black Magic & Meguires.
Taylor 01-23-2005, 06:41 AM the monkey! the monkey!
lasts really super long.
its_ikon 01-24-2005, 07:31 PM one thing i have noticed from using gels is that you will start getting a build up.
^^^ true! On my last car, I had gel buildup because I did not clean the tire properly when I apply it after frequent uses.
Now, I make sure that the tire is clean before I apply tire dressing. It really makes a difference in the shine and lasting effects; I use Eagle one tire shine and it lasts a good 2 weeks till I wash it again :P
been using no touch and some tire wet for the toyos I got. Works great, but I am still looking for something better. :D
squirrel 01-29-2005, 12:01 AM Yup shining monkey. It doesn't eat the rubber like some of the other ones I was using. Like Eagle 1, and some others.
