Default Need Advice! Body damage...PICS added

Ok so unfortunately I damaged the box a little last night. I am lowered on df210 and scraped the side skirt on a curb leaving school. It is pretty busted up and looks like poo.

I had just blown some money on new tires and other crap so my disposable income is low at the moment.

I went to the dealer today to get an estimate on how much it would cost to replace. Keep in mind that there is no body damage it is basically just cosmetic. The sideskirt looks like it is made of ABS and is color matched. But i noticed that it is plastic riveted to the body like a lot of other pieces on our cars. So I was hoping to see it under 200 bucks. at most. Walked out of there with an estimate of 320 bucks for the new rocker panel/skirt and install.

SO my question is what do you guys think I should do? I went online last night and was looking at some after market side skirts. Found the Bomex and a few others unpainted for around 200-250. I was planning on getting a lip kit down the road, so maybe this would be an excuse to get one.

Do you guys think I should pay to have it fixed or just get something aftermarket and have it painted and cover it up?

I have never been in a situation like this before and just don't really know what to do. Any input would be extremely beneficial. Thanks in advance guys!

Buy some body filler, sandpaper, primer, a spray can of BSP basecoat, some clear, and some Polish...Should run you about $75. Can you get some pics up of the damage?

I don't think body filler is going to cut it on this one. Let me go snap a pic or two so you guys can get a better idea.

I would honestly just hammer out the dent from the inside, and go pick up the factory sideskirt, then do the install yourself.

Go get a lip kit, problem solved. Well hammer out the dent and them put the lip kit on ha ha.

That seriously made me cringe though when I looked at the pics.

Yea I am thinkin about just forking up the 320 bucks to get it fixed. I was considering the Bomex kit without the rear for now. Just get the front lip and skirts and have it painted.

But like I said Im on df210s and with a lip kit I feel stuff like this is only going to be more prone to happening. Im just ____ed at myself because I baby the ____ out of this car and a small lapse of judgement ____s everything up.

Such is life I guess

Your better off just fixing it. Cuz you would have to smooth out those edges anyway, cuz if you did get some side skirts they'd look like $h!+, if you didnt str8'n them out 1st.

plus if you ever sell the car and not fixing it, is going to come back and bite u in the @$$ come negotiating time.

^^ I was thinking the same thing ocrida. Just have a lot of options at this point but the most logical seems to just get it fixed. Mine as well bite the bullet on this one and do it the right way. We all know what can happen if you don't things the right way lol

ya it would probably cost you more to buy side skirts, get them painted, install them, plus you would have to fix the sides just to make the aftermarket ones fit.

Plus $320 isnt that bad of a price especially from a dealer

I think I will just get it fixed.

How do you like your Bomex kit ocrida? It looks awesome btw. What are you lowered on? Have any problems with scraping?

The bomex kit looks great, but since its made out of fiberglass is not all that great. I'm lowered on Hotchkis springs and 18x8.5 w/ 235/40/18 tires and I pretty much scrap the front on almost all driveways so i have to take it really slow.

Since it's my daily driver usually during the week i drive w/ it off.

if you have a 100.00 deductible from your insurance company then you could make a claim.
