Default Removing Stock Radio

I just bought a scion xB. I was wondering how you remove the radio device. I'm trying to run a power cord from it to my amp. Any help appreciated

I was asking for more detailed instructions. Any tips on how to remove the trim - such as proper removal would be appreciated. I'm not trying to break anything.

just pull it straight out...
i usually get some leverage by putting my fingers inside the vents..

really.. just yank the trim off.

the trim piece with the 2 vents around the stereo must be removed first. as others have mentioned, it comes out with just a little persuasion. pull it straight out (towards you) and it will unclip. if you need to, you can use a interior trim tool or a flatblade screwdriver to get some leverage behind it, but be careful! as we all know, the xB interior scuffs if you just look at it the wrong way.

after that, you need to remove the lower trim piece that sits below where the first one was. it'll be pretty obvious once you get the first one out of the way since you'll have a hard time getting to the screws/bolts that hold the stereo in without taking it out.

after that, just unbolt the stereo (10mm), undo the wiring harnesses, and remove.

yeah that's why i've said pull the trim piece.. just grab it somehow.. and pull on it til you finally get parts to unsnap.. then the rest is easy.. i wouldn't use a screwdriver on that plastic because of how easy it is to scratch it.. then if you need to pop that piece off that is on the bottom of the opening.. you'll see it
