Hi all,

Thanks for letting me post on your site tonight reading to my request. I am posting here to be as specific about my needs as possible and so you can better understand the project and what you might be able to do to contribute to it.

Basically this is my final project for my "Capture" class. It's all B&W photos so I will prob. be using B&W film cameras and such. The photographer that has inspired my project is Edward Burtynsky. This guy makes magic. At least to me. please check his site and work. http://www.edwardburtynsky.com/

Samples of his color stuff (Gonna bring the Digital with me as well). So of course I doubt I will do as well as this, but it's worth a try :)

Ok so now you know the kind of spectrum I am looking at here. It;s pretty overwhelming what we are doing to this planet every day. Literally changing the face of the world. So if you can help in any way bring me closer to taking cool photographs like these I would be in your debt for many years to come. I need contacts to plants, mines, harbors etc. etc. If You can get me in yourself well all the better. I need to "SECURE" at least 3 locations in about 5 days. and then after that I have about 7 days to present the finished prints.

So I have about 10days till I MUST have already done the shooting for this project on some way. Thanks again and any help would be appreciated. You are welcome to come shoot your own shots as well, but they can in no way interfere with the project for me. I am sure however you will get plenty of cool shots or ideas of your own on location.

Thanks in advance,
James

good luck on your search, there's a big decommissioned factory around here, and I could probably get you into it, it just wouldn't be 100% legal. lol

Port of Long Beach?

It's located at the south end of the Interstate 710 (Long Beach) Freeway.

Don't know if this would work, but the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits came to mind.

Here's a link to the list of all the demolition sites in CA:

I'd look some more but I'm at work right now. See if you can find the location addresses for California Landfills.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, FOUND A LIST FOR YOU:

& to be honest, I wouldn't mind coming along with you. I'd love to photograph this stuff.

The La Brea Tar Pits are a natural Landscape unfortunately. My Mom lives about 1mile or so from it. Port of Long beach might work though. Any suggestions on where. Is there a peer with those big Cranes?

"EDIT: NEVERMIND, FOUND A LIST FOR YOU" thanks I can use this list.

I remember going there like 10 yrs ago or so, & I remember seeing cranes so I know it's possible. Unfortunately I can't remember where I was. =/

yeah that would be cool. I would just need to get into that area to a photo or two :) That's the tricky part.
