So if you take the cams out of your car and you did not take out the battery can you fry your wire harness i took my cams out and put other ones in and forgot to take out the battery and now the car will turn over but is not getting spark

I seriously dout it - sounds more to me like the cam timing is off - rotate the crank to 0* indicator and check cam timing - it make take up to 4 rotations (its a 4 stroke motor) to have the cams come to the timing marks - but make sure youre not off a chain length somewhere - its easy to do. Once you get it where the cams are at the timing marks - the crank pulley should be at dead 0*

but the motor turns over.. just wont start it wants to but i can see the problem so you are are saying just to re time it in general thats why it wont start?

if timing is 20-30* off itll crank and prolly sputter n ish but not turn over - just check your cam/crank timing

if it doesn't spark then you might have left a ground off or damaged the cam/crank sensor. check all of your connections first.

Very true :) or if it tries to start but sputters and backfires lol you could be like me and have the coils in the wrong order lmao - i redid the wiring harness on mine when i had the motor out and when i was done - the harness for one and two were nearly the same length - sure enough got em backwards and it would turn over but wouldnt stay running and backfired like crazy :)

its turns over but doesnt run so if the timing is off will it not fully run?

depends how much its off by - if its off by a very small amount (5-10*) it may run - just not well. If its off by more than that 99% its not going to run. Take the valve cover off and check the timing its relatively simple to do and if you installed the cams yourself you shouldve checked timing during install so you should be aware of how to do it.

I have checked the timing.. im going to take off the timming cover and re time all of it so that way i wont have a prob but i am waiting for internals ;)
