Hey guys,

I bought a OEM lip spoiler from Scion and want to install it on to my tC... the various dealer is asking for around $60-80 to install it....right now i'm short on cash....i was wondering if I should buy the "Installation Template Spoiler" ($30) for a do-it-yourself...anyone ever tried this? is it easy to install a lip spoiler on to the trunk...i must said, i'm not very comfortable drilling holes on to my trunk...but don't know if the template is pretty helpful. Let me know what you guys think....appreciated!

3M double sided tape should do the trick.

Yea if you don't want to drill hole just uses 3M double sided tape, it will hold just fine with the lip spoiler.

I have not had a chance to look at the physical spoiler yet.. It is just delivered to my house and still in the box...will look at it when I get home...But as far as I heard the Factory Lip spoiler are design to put bolts on and not using 3M tap like the aftermarket lip that we can find on eBay. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It uses both but you can grind off the parts where the bolts go in spoiler and just use 3M tape if you don't want to make holes in the trunk.

That makes alot of sense. Thanks for your advice!

Now I'm just worried about because I live in Seattle, WA where it rains like 300 days in a year...don't know if the 3M tape is durable enough to handle all that water flowing in or around the spoiler.

make sure the area is clean and dry during installation and you'll be fine
