I have a fujita cai, and the underbody plastic that covers my intake is torn up. As i went through a dip in my neighborhood, i didnt know the puddle was deep. so i proceeded with caution, and i felt my car hesitating, i thought i was gonna hydrolock. anyway, would a hydro shield help minimize the chances of hydrolocking, if so anyone know of a shop where i can pick one ASAP, tomorrow; also the missing pieces to the underbody plastic shields? Thanks.

The same thing happened to me. The plastic fly off going down the freeway. Then a couple days later it rained real hard. I sucked water into the motor. Luckily all it messed up was a sensor and luckily I got it covered under warranty. i bought the whole plastic piece from a dealership for like $120 i think. Since then I added the hydroshield that covers the filter and the bypass valve. I havent had any problems since.

a hydro shield is not going to protect you from submerging the filter i believe and possibly hinder your performance.

For an AEM byspass to really work as well I've heard that it has to be mounted in the down pipe of the intake but most people always mount them in the cross section of the intake and its' not as functional. I would just say try to avoid driving in puddles and be extra cautious.

I've hyrdo locked an engine before and it sucks. I have a CAI on my car again and I just try to be careful
