XBman 01-12-2005, 11:42 PM Hey all
Im looking in the near future for a 2 tip exhaust set up.. is there any factory made exhausts what exit out of the rear? i did do a search on this but because this site is wayyyy to big to find anything!!! i was not able to find anyhing i would rather not have to build my own... help would be appreciated
chadfo 01-13-2005, 12:33 AM Are you referring to dual exhaust or just 2 tips side by side?
I know Borla makes a dual but I've never seen multiple tips from the same mufler.
hotbox05 01-13-2005, 02:01 AM yeah they have em called dtm tip or a dual canister racing medallion type. i had a dtm on my supra and now have a dual canister let me conjure up some pics.

You want a dual tip muffler as an axle back for your xB? Do you have enough room on the bottom lip for one?

squirrel 01-14-2005, 02:33 PM Magnaflow has 13 5x8 oval mufflers w/ dual tips, but you'll have to widen the OEM opening in the rear lip.
is this what you are looking for? Or something to this nature?

This is mike from over here in norcal and we had to cut his bumper to make these guys fit. He loves the tips though. :D

And six different tips available seperately.
TheScionicMan 01-14-2005, 04:53 PM How about something like this? Again, won't fit the stock opening...

Oh yeah, forgot we did that on to scionjohn's ride too. :D Man that was a clean set-up.
THE_DON 01-14-2005, 06:21 PM The opening is roughly 5 inches wide... So you could do a couple of 2.5 inch tips...
It looks more euro, "BMW" like... That's what I'm gonna do 8)

scionjohn has the spirit kit straight from japan and it came with that exhaust system. I had to modify it to fit the US-xB, it was made for the bB set-up. It sounded great, yeah kind of euro. :)
aLL_STaR_gene 01-17-2005, 05:50 PM Like Brad said, MagnaFlow offers several choices for you to pick from. Check out the link below for images and specs on the mufflers to choose from.

did you want the tips? or the muffler with tips?
liquidscion 01-18-2005, 11:17 PM wow
windowtint 01-19-2005, 01:49 AM the best (IMHO) looking dual-setups are those like EvilDave's box pic'd above. The xB looks a little lop-sided with the single exit OEM exhaust.
To finish it off, you should weld the seam shut on the rear valance (and if you get frisky, weld in an OEM tailpipe trim piece into the drivers side so it all looks completely factory - as opposed to one side be contoured and the other just being a hole cut into the bumper)
hotbox05 01-19-2005, 02:22 AM weld that seam? funny it's plastic!
windowtint 01-19-2005, 03:30 AM Yeah, hilarious. Open mouth, insert foot.
Now learn how to do bodywork and maybe one day you too will be able to weld plastics. Maybe even get good enough to work on some of the hybrid mixes like Toyota's TSOP PP - E/P plastic.... (which is what that 'plastic' skirt is made from)
Evildave worked on the bumper, he did a lot of the measuring and cuttin on there. I just threw on the mufflers. :D
windowtint 01-19-2005, 04:21 AM ....... and it looks good ;) you gotta take SOME credit Gabe, the bumper would look dumb as hell if there were just two big holes and no muffler tips sticking out of them...
Yeah I see a lot of hondas with body kits that only have on muffler. :D
hotbox05 01-19-2005, 08:15 AM Yeah, hilarious. Open mouth, insert foot.

i love that one.
squirrel 01-19-2005, 04:37 PM Darren, plastic can be welded. That's how motorcycle fairings are fixed.
