alright so im getting my blue g2 paint in the mail and im gonna paint the calipers tommorow. i heard that you dont have to take off the calipers in order to do it right, anyone have any tips on painting the calipers? is it hard?

not hard, just make sure you prep them well and finish it off with a clear coat so it will last longer.

 

and do i need to buy the clear coat or does it come with the g2 kit

 

i doubt that it comes with it, you can pick it up for like $5 at autozone

ok cool its just called clearcoat at pepboys ? and it looks nicee, did u have to sand it cuz on the DIY it says to sand it but i dont have that machinee

 

yes pepboys should have it. i didnt sand it, just some primer - color - clear coat. a few layers of each and it works just fine

took about 2 hours and let it set overnight to fully cure, a few beers in between coats too

yeah, but i also took my calipers off so i didnt have to tape anything off

 

i did mine yesterday with red G2 paint. Took longer cause I was teaching the girl about how brakes work. I used a wire brush and the brake cleaner to prep the area really well.

 

oooo ok damn i dont want to take off the calipers, were they hard to take off, and mattieg did u by the brake cleaner at pepboys

 

yeah you dont have to take them off, just have to tape everything off for any over spray

 

the brake cleaner comes in the G2 kit. Just get yourself a wire brush. Also I used those cheap foam brushes you buy for fifty cents. They worked great!

no its a two part paint system with the paint and a catalyst. There is no over spray, cause you dont spray anything lol.
