Finally got my memory card back, but before I launch into the photos, I'd like to thank Edwin Villanueva for allowing for to shoot for AutoImportCraze[dot]com. It was a great learning experience and I had a lot of fun! Enjoy!!

If your shooting in jpg and the pics come out like that, I'd love to see some RAW shots.

Review the pics that xknowonex or RnB180 take. I think they both shoot in RAW. It's a format that's best to use with post processing though I think?

very nice shots Ro ja, love the blue skies ^^
Id also love to see what you come up with if you decide to shoot in raw :D

p-shooter/bEazy,

an untouched raw shot will not be substantially better than its jpeg counterpart.
The differences between an untouched raw file and standard jpeg is the amount of color information and black level information that can be worked with in raw, as opposed to the jpeg that has the information compressed.

raw and jpeg is essentially comparable to cd wav and high sample rate mp3.

side by side you the biggest difference you will see is that raw files are darker, thats due to the increased amount of black level information.

where raw tops jpeg is that there is a lot more information to work with when post processing a photo, this in turn allows you more flexibility and freedom to process a final image thats closer to what you're artistic vision was when you took the photo.

However RAW format won't be optimized unless you have a good understanding of PS and color theory i.e. understanding color shifts, rgb, black level information and working with histograms. RAW is strictly for those that post process shooting in raw and not processing the image will serve very little purpose and at times even look worse than it's jpeg counterpart, one of the reasons being that the custom NR function is enabled in jpeg mode and you'll find yourself having to remove noise in raw via 3rd party software.

raw is essentially a digital counterpart to a film negative.

I highly recommend any serious amateur/hobbyist to get familiar with raw as a habit
and learning it, its the first step into improving the quality of work. If it's for pro use RAW is an industry practice in a photographers workflow.

all those magazine spreads, fashion, automotive, maxim, weddings, portraiture all of them shoot in RAW and all of them are post processed, some examples are blemish removal, exposure compensation, filters/textures, and in some cases for modeling liquify for creating longer legs, slimmer waist and so on.
