My brother is heading out to Japan for a vacation, and i wanted him to pick me up some stuff for the scion. do you think it would be cheaper, if he shipped some rims over or would it be the same hassle as ordering from a store here and having it shipped in? also how would that work? anyone have any experience having someone from JP buy some rims and ship it down? or anything for that matter? thanks.

I lived in Japan for 16yrs, to tell you the truth I couldn't tell you about shipping the rims but if you want some great stuff that is unique to the states tell your brother to hit up Autobacs, YellowHat, and if he can find one Upgarage. Auto and Yellow are both very common stores that are like autozone but like a million times better!! Upgarage is a "used" store that stocks Audio, rims, bodykits and other accesories for great prices!!
Tell your brother to have a great time, I wish I could go, that place is home to me! 8)

To tell you the truth ay, you will save a few dollars on rims if you get them from japan shipped. But not a big difference either way...You will find that the rims will be cheaper, but then the shipping will get ya from japan....Speaking from experience....but if you want to save a few bucks, the order from japan and send them over....only rare rims though.....if they are common.... a lot of US peeps import them and just go through them......i guess its all about preference.....for me....RARe stuff i will get from japan, common i just get here in the US....i dont want to talk any longer....ay if you have any questions call me or pm me..... :D

unless otherwise you can't get the item here in the U.S., that would be the way. check first here in the states.

i use to send out alot of Harley parts for my brother & his crew in Japan, he's a president of a motorcycle club out there w/ over 200 members. thank God they have a Harley shop out there now. no mo shippin fo me :D

Yeah, go to Autobacs and check out the insane pricing on the Scion badges!! :shock:

Anyway, yeah....... rims you can definitely get cheaper there, but the shipping may even things out. I would get some that are not offered through any of the online vendors here, or something that you just don't see.

Like a Fujitsubo exhaust :wink: or some nice Work rims :wink:

I was just there, but only brought back small things for the xB. I am waiting on my BB Bibles to show me what to shop for next time that I go there :D
