I'm trying to get a RS 1.0 xB in Florida, and all the dealers I've talked to have said they won't have it until June. Is anyone else hearing this? I ordered one from Toyota of Orlando because they said they could get it by March, but they called me today to say they wouldn't have it til June, so I cancelled my order. Does anyone know for sure when these hit the streets? Are the release dates different for different parts of the country? Is California getting them before Florida?

different regions of the country might have different ship dates...ther is someone on the boards that works at the port down there in Florida.. he might be able to help...my region is CAT central Atlantic Toyota and as far as I know we are getting them mid to late march...but no sign of them at port yet

Well V we get our first truck of Xa's and Xb's next week( my dm told me that Thursday :D ) but we don't the R S 1 till March like everyone else....I hope at least we get them in march....one cool thing though...WE have a showroom!!!!!! looks pretty cool...I dig it :D

Last I heard and read from toyota, we were supposed to start receiving them between march and may.

We ordered ours about a month ago and they said june 1st.

They may have told you June 1st because their alotment of xB has been filled for the months of March thru May, leaving June. You may want to call some other dealers there in NYC area, they may be able to get the rs1 before June. Waiting till June would make me nervious :? cause there are only gonna be 2100 of these made, and March is when they start rolling them out.

If you read CB's post above you, you will see that March, April, May, June, it doesn't matter, the release date for the RS is March, if your dealer can't give it to you til june, it is nost likely because they have filled all of their allotments with preferences, you could find this out by asking when they can get you a regular xB. If they tell you that they can get you a regular xB in march, then you should be able to get a RS in march... getiing a Scion doesn't always have to do with the cars availability, it also has to do with how many that particular dealer gets to sell. Like others have said, start calling around. If getting a RS is important to you, then you would be willing to drive a bit to make sure you got one in March. Also if your dealer isn't showing a lot of initiative to make sure you get what you want, then my suggestion would be to find a new dealer... My dealer will bend over backwards to make sure I get my car, and he makes sure I know whats goin on...he calls me as much as I call him... Good Luck...

thats sounds good and all. i mean i am willing to drive where ever but i dont have the funds available to keep puting $500 deposits on one to get it. my dealer told me to get on the list that i had to put a $500 deposit down so i did. those this sound normal with all dealers or should i get my money back and go elsewhere. i mean they sound like they know what they are talking about sometimes and other times they say of the most off the wall shizit. Amyone holla back on this issue. thanks

Well that sounds about right, I had to do the same to hold mines as well. All you can do is keep checking back with them from time to time to see what new info they have. If things dont go like you want them to or you feel like something is not going how its suposed to then get your deposit back and go else where. All in all though it sounds like you should be alright. Nobody here knows the exact date that we will receive are 1.0 so all you can do is be patient. Good Luck!

...well they have to give you your deposit back if you want it...that's the law no way around that...if you can find a dealer your comfortable with and they follow through you should be able to get a R. S 1...exact date..I don't know we've been told march but no one has seen these at the port yet...once they hit port they are about 3-6 weeks from hitting dealers so we all will have a better time table once they hit port

well you could get a copy of a purchase order with the model number...but not much else see cause they're not at port yet and haven't been cut in allocation there is no Vins right now...hell we don't even know how many the port is getting...

Really, where did here that at, I ordered mines as well and I havent got an exact day on mines yet. I have gotten end up Feb, as well as sometime in March. I would hope to get them in the 3rd week of Feb, cuz I cant wait

I have had alot of contact with people and even the Scion Aces don't have a firm date, but Corp. still says March, thats it...

If that's what the dealer told you then he probably didn't know and gave you a time as close to the start of spring as possible. Right now the release date is spring time and that's it. No hard date yet.

You arent gonna get an exact date now, and it might be hard to get an RS from an out of state dealer because they are gonna go quick and they will most likely go local, it might be worth a try, but you need to just go in and talk to your dealer, get them on the same page!

hey guys I read on another post from V that Cali no going to be allow out of state sells for the R S 1...I don't know if this is true for the rest of us...I'll ask my Dm tomorrow...anyone else heard of this????

I went to my dealer today and we have been dealing with the same guy and girl since we walked in in december and she called right in front of me the Scion sales rep for the east coast and asked him and naturally he wasnt there so she is gonna call back tommorow. She left a message but you know how those types of guys are! So I hope to know by tommorow when mine will be getting here atleast.

i got a rs1 reserved and i should be getting it in mid march they said...also got a montegi racing package as well from the dealership

i emailed my rep and asked her what was going on with the RS 1.0, here's her reply:

Chris,
There are 2,000 of them. however GST will only be getting 250 of them. they will be available in April for June delivery. we are not sure who will get them at this time. I am pretty sure that we will not have a problem in taking care of the customer.

as a dealer you if you can preference them in your allotment, but you can't expect to receive 15 if you ask for that many, the car being lim. prod. and all :(

Scion, the new marque from Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., will display for the first time a Scion Release Series special edition of the popular xB subcompact, at the 2004 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show.

The xB Release Series 1.0 is the first limited edition for Scion and will offer unique appearance and performance enhancements.

All xB Release Series 1.0 vehicles will have a new, vibrant orange body color, Hot Lava, and color-keyed rear spoiler. A matching orange powder-coated strut tie-bar brace will enhance handling performance on the xB, while a billet grille completes the xB Release Series' tuner look.

Interior enhancements are designed to match the exclusive Hot Lava body paint. The xB will be illuminated with orange under-dash, under-seat and cupholder lighting and be further distinguished with subtle, black seat fabric with orange highlights. Finally, a small numbered plaque will be applied to the interior of each Release Series car.

Approximately 2,100 units of the xB Release Series 1.0 will be available. Scion dealerships in California, the southwest, southeast and east coast will offer xB Release Series beginning in March. The xB Release Series 1.0 model will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price of less than $1,000 over the base xB, which starts at $13,680.

Scion launched the subcompact xB and xA in California in June 2003 and will expand across the southwest, southeast and east coast in February 2004. The rollout will be complete in June 2004. The purchase process is simplified, with customers selecting model, transmission, and color from the factory. They can also choose from nearly 40 accessories to further personalize their vehicles. These accessories reflect performance, audio, and appearance enhancements, and can be seen by visiting Scion.com or a Scion dealer. Scion.com and the dedicated dealership showroom environment allow customers to discover the brand at their own pace, and configure vehicles to suit individual needs.


I keep reading about dealers preferencing the rs1 for you guys as a pre-sold order. While that is true, you must keep in mind that all the dealers can preference them, sold or not. A smart dealer is gonna preference all they can. With that said, your 500 deposit and a preference by your dealer isn't gonna guarantee you a car. Thats not even talking about whether or not the dealer you give your money to is even gonna be scion compliant by that time. If they go uncompliant between now and then, you may lose your shot at an rs1.

The dealer by me is on a first come first serve basis with no deposit. They don't wanna take someone's deposit and not be able to deliver. They are gonna make a list, then IF one becomes available to them, they start calling down the list starting with no.1. I hope everyone gets their orders filled, but what happens if you don't.

Sorry to sound so negative, it just sounds like a lot of eggs in a very small basket.

There are a little more than 500 Scion dealers in the U.S. . Each dealer will get their alotment and thats it .They will get no more than that . That makes four per dealer . They have to put out alot of money for training and presentations .Which cost a small fortune to become a scion dealer.So Scion is obligated to give each dealer their fair share. So when they are gone their gone.They can trade for other cars but I dont think they are that crazy to let one go. Also The dealer puts you on a list with Scion.You are put in that order. The Dealer will not get any more that their alotment.

Good thing I'm the first one at my dealer to place an order for it. At least I have a good chance of getting one.

talked with my dealer today. she said that every dealer is going to get at least one rs1.0 and that it should be march b/f they get to n.c. but i will definly get one.
does this sound right?
