Just noticed this when I was installing my TRD exhaust yesterday. A chunk of tire of the side wall is hanging by a thread. Looks like I ran over something small/sharp, can't remember. There aren't any cracks I know of, it looks like the area is isolated.

 

No I don't think it does, I had a corner of a curb and it took a chuck of my tire out, and put some deep scratches in my rim. Been fine since I did it.

 

You might be able to drive on it OK, but your risk of a blowout has gone up significantly considering that section of sidewall is MUCH thinner than it previously was.

 

you should probably get that replaced, blowing out would suck!!

 

to be on the safe side i would say replace it. But ive had that happen to me and drove on it for a while

you can drive, but just make sure that spare tire is nice and handy

 

You should be fine. I had it once. My uncle is a mechanic and said it's best to cut it off so it doesn't try to spread.

 

Had that happen to me before and i drove on it for a few months without any problems but it can't be too safe..

you should be fine. just stick with casual driving though, spirited driving will probably increase your risk of a blowout. i've had a small flap that on my falkens for about 10,000 miles now, no issues.
