So I currently have 3000K HID in my fogs with yellow overlays. Trying to decide if I want to keep it that way or if I want to change the fogs out to 6000K (I already have the bulbs) and pull the overlays.

I say keep them the way it is. I like the contrast on your box.

 

Swap to 6000 or keep the 3000 and ditch the yellow overlays.

I have my fogs just like yours. I like it like that just because i like the jdm look. But I wonder how it would look like if 6000k hid over the yellow overlays. Brighter perhaps?

3000K actually puts out more lumens than 6000K. However, the vinyl overlay only allows 83% transmission, so I am losing a bit of light to the vinyl.

 

This is what they look like with 3000K and no overlay.


The throw is still yellow, but it doesn't appear as yellow from head on. I might just pull the overlay.

 

Funny, i was just in the topic of Sonars where you posted that same front picture, and i was thinking how sweet them yellow fogs look on there. I voted for you to keep them yellow! Looks hot.

 

my vote is for keeping them as is. I am sure you live in an area that gets snow form time to time, and the yellow provides a nice amount of contrast in those conditions.

 

Well, I added some chrome to the grille today and the yellow just didn't flow. I pulled the overlays and kept the 3000K bulbs. Going to roll like that for a bit.
